Course Description

R Programming for Statistics and Data Science 2021R Programming is a skill you need if you want to work as a data analyst or a data scientist in your industry of choice. And why wouldn't you? Data scientist is the hottest ranked profession in the US.
But to do that, you need the tools and the skill set to handle data. R is one of the top languages to get you where you want to be. Combine that with statistical know-how, and you will be well on your way to your dream title.

This course is packing all of this, and more, in one easy-to-handle bundle, and its the perfect start to your journey.

So, welcome to R for Statistics and Data Science!

R for Statistics and Data Science is the course that will take you from a complete beginner in programming with R to a professional who can complete data manipulation on demand. It gives you the complete skill set to tackle a new data science project with confidence and be able to critically assess your work and others. Laying strong foundations

This course wastes no time and jumps right into hands-on coding in R. But dont worry if you have never coded before, we start off light and teach you all the basics as we go along! We wanted this to be an equally satisfying experience for both complete beginners and those of you who would just like a refresher on R.
What makes this course different from other courses?

Well-paced learning.
Receive top class training with content which weve built - and rigorously edited - to deliver powerful and efficient results.

Even though preferred learning paces differ from student to student, we believe that being challenged just the right amount underpins the learning that sticks.

Introductory guide to statistics.
We will take you through descriptive statistics and the fundamentals of inferential statistics.

We will do it in a step-by-step manner, incrementally building up your theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Youll master confidence intervals and hypothesis testing, as well as regression and cluster analysis.

The essentials of programming R-based.
Put yourself in the shoes of a programmer, rise above the average data scientist and boost the productivity of your operations.

Data manipulation and analysis techniques in detail.
Learn to work with vectors, matrices, data frames, and lists.

Become adept in the Tidyverse package - Rs most comprehensive collection of tools for data manipulation enabling you to index and subset data, as well as spread(), gather(), order(), subset(), filter(), arrange(), and mutate() it.

Create meaning-heavy data visualizations and plots.

Practice makes perfect.
Reinforce your learning through numerous practical exercises, made with love, for you, by us.
What about homework, projects, & exercises?

There is a ton of homework that will challenge you in all sorts of ways. You will have the chance to tackle the projects by yourself or reach out to a video tutorial if you get stuck.
You: Is there something to show for the skills I will acquire?
Us: Indeed, there is a verifiable certificate.

You will receive a verifiable certificate of completion with your name on it. You can download the certificate and attach it to your CV and even post it on your LinkedIn profile to show potential employers you have experience in carrying out data manipulations & analysis in R.

If that sounds good to you, then welcome to the classroom :)Who this course is for:

Easy to understand language but found too much stress on Basics. Should focus more on Statistics and Data Science as topic suggested

All the session are so informative and give different ways to perform the same task. However, more time is needed to fellow or at least provide each lesson R script. I enjoyed it !

By Silvia Convento on 9/23/2020

I highly recommend this course. It is one of the best I have ever attended. Lessons are clear, easy to follow and exercises are very useful. It is very comprehensive and addresses many of the basics of a programming language that you usually have to figure out on your own (or even worse, you end up never understanding how to do). I feel like it gave me a solid foundational knowledge of R and saved me a lot of time!
Finally, I feel now I have the tools I need to continue exploring and applying more advanced statistical methods to my datasets in R. This was really great, thanks!

I think the course is good but not amazing. I will explain why I do think so...
Being a little bit critic, first of all, I think the teacher speaks and explains concepts sometimes too fast and give too many things for granted. It's nice to have diagrams and pictures being shown but probably the teacher has missed not all people are necessarily familiar with those concepts.
Second, I think exercises, at least the most complicated, should be explained afterwards. Third, some example are a little bit childish, especially on the first section.
Other than those 3 points, I think the course is overall worth and with some extra research and complementary study from other sources, it is a good step to start R. :) I still recommend it.

Beautifully designed course! Great work, Simona! Some lectures ran more quickly than I could easily catch up with, and could certainly be more detailed, but I certainly feel better prepared to move now on to more sophisticated content.

By Brooks Lee on 3/4/2020

Yes, this course was a good match for my learning expectations for R. It will be very useful in my data manipulation and statistical analysis tasks for my job. With an added tutorial on regular expressions, I expect to be highly proficient in manipulating data, among other things.

By Michal on 5/6/2020

This is my first R course ever finished! I liked it very much, the pace was ok, the examples were funny and interesting. I am a molecular biologist and want to use R for some biostatistic and bioinformatic purposes. Since I am neither informatician, nor statistician, the sections regarding R programming, and hypothesis testing were less understandable (but also not that important) for me.

By Cristina Castillo on 5/10/2020

I had zero experience with R and I gained great new skills and knowledge. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants a solid primer on R for data analytics. The beginning of the course is challenging as you learn the foundations of a new language, but stick with it! You will be satisfied once you start manipulating/cleaning up datasets and plotting data!

By Robert J. Ward on 7/8/2020

There are frequently disconnects between the written text and the accompanying verbal lecture. These take some time to resolve and are a tad distracting. Otherwise, I find the presentation logical in the order presented.

By Muralidharan Kumar on 5/1/2020

Overall understanding and learning of R is great:). However in the future, it will be a little more helpful if you could focus on explaining the concepts of Data science in detail for a better understanding of your students.

By Rachel Liu on 7/18/2020

This is at least the 11th courses I am taking in Udemy. However, despite some spelling mistakes in the video, there are some concepts or functions which were used in teaching were not previously explained. This is supposed to be a entry level for R learners. Besides, seems that the instructor has given up this course and the questions were not being answered during a reasonable time period. In this case, I do not think it is well designed and explained. There are so many mistakes. I do not recommend this course.

By Ayberk Tunay on 9/4/2020

I needed to take a lecture on R in my college but I couldn't. This course provided me more than what I need. I have written algorithms and working programs thanks to the info containing. I even been able to prove some of the statistical works such as convergence of Z values in increasing sample sizes etc. by those algorithms. 10/10, completely honest.
