Course Description

Are you excited to get into the world of UI/UX but you don't know where to start? This course will allow you to add UX designer to your CV & start getting paid for your new skills.
Hi there! My name is Dan & I'm an Adobe Certified Instructor. I'm here to help you learn Adobe XD efficiently and comprehensively. XD is a fantastic design tool used by industry professionals to product high quality & functional mockups. By the end of this course, you will be able to produce practical and effective User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) designs.
Throughout the course I'll invite you to participate in a real-life freelance project which I'm working on. It's a project that requires a fresh website and mobile app interface. This will prepare you for dealing with real world projects if you choose to move towards a UX/UI career path.
  • Aria: "This course is definitely above expectations so far. I didn't expect to get so much insight into the briefing and the communication between UX Designer and a client. It helps to see the brief and to learn that there are different tiers of income based on projects and experience. Love It!"
This course is aimed at people interested in UI/UX Design. We'll start from the very beginning and work all the way through, step by step. If you already have some UI/UX Design experience but want to get up to speed using Adobe XD then this course is perfect for you too!
First, we will go over the differences between UX and UI Design. We will look at what our brief for this real-world project is, then we will learn about low-fidelity wireframes and how to make use of existing UI design kits.
I'll go over all of the essential tools necessary for creating excellent wireframes, including: type, colours, icons, Lorem ipsum, artboards, prototyping, models and popups, symbols and repeat grids. We will even make use of the new prototyping app so that you can experience your prototype on your mobile device.
  • Kate: Excellent course - Dan is an excellent teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed following along with his videos. Highly recommend! July 2018: I have updated this review with an extra star because of how useful this course has been in the months following it's completion. I am using Adobe XD daily and Dan's instruction was instrumental to adding this feather to my front-end web development hat.
An important part of maximising your UX Design workflow is being able to utilise other software such as Photoshop and Illustrator. This is why I'll be teaching you how to make use of both to help boost your XD productivity.
One of the awesome new features of XD is micro-interactions. I'll be teaching you all about those and how to use them to grow icons and scenes. This is one of the parts of web design that's growing and being adopted rapidly so you won't want to miss out on learning it early.
  • Leigh: "I really enjoyed this course. I was a UX designer before the course and was looking for more information on XD and getting to know the program itself better, and this course really nailed it! It has great UX references and a few refreshing perspectives. As well as it really helps you learn XD in the process. The instructor is engaging and fun to listen to. Really really great course. I highly recommend to any new UX designers, as well as veterans looking for a refresh, or just to learn how to use XD."
There are two class projects for you to complete during this class, these will help develop your skills and will give you something for your own portfolio.
It is now time to upgrade yourself & learn Adobe XD.Who this course is for:

Sharing is who I am, and teaching is where I am at my best, because I've been on both sides of that equation, and getting to deliver useful training is my meaningful way to be a part of the creative community.
I've spent a long time watching others learn, and teach, to refine how I work with you to be efficient, useful and, most importantly, memorable. I want you to carry what I've shown you into a bright future.
I have a wife (a lovely Irish girl) and kids. I have lived and worked in many places (as Kiwis tend to do) but most of my 14+ years of creating and teaching has had one overriding theme: bringing others along for the ride as we all try to change the world with our stories, our labours of love and our art.
I'm a certified Adobe instructor (ACI) in Ireland. I'm also an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) and have completed the Adobe Certified Associate training (ACA). And I don't just do Adobe. Remember, media is a very broad term digital blew out the borders, so we are all constantly learning.
I've been teaching for 14+ years. I come from being a media designer and content creator so I understand exactly where you're at now. I've been there. I love this stuff. Print, digital publishing, web and video. I can see how it all connects. And I can see how we can share those connections.
I built Bring Your Own Laptop in Ireland, New Zealand, Australia & online. I have a great team working with me to keep BYOL at the top of Adobe and digital media training. I u

Really good course, a great place to start off with, I was new to UI UX now I feel like I have more confidence, Dan's teaching style was superb

This was an amazing course! Daniel is so passionate and funny, and i really enjoyed working on this much more than i expected myself to. i thought it'd be difficult to grasp adobe ux but daniel sets really practical and useful homework. thanks for getting me started! loved this!

Thank so much Dan - really great course, the projects are really helpful - I took your adobe after effects before! all the best

As a beginner, I learned a lot from this course. Daniel is such a great teacher. The course is neatly organized and even have assignments after some sessions so you can apply the knowledge from whatever you have learned.

Dan is a really good tutor. He tries to touch on every information needed with some sense of humor. But would have loved if he taught a bit more of UX.

Simple, yet elaborates just enough information on the essentials, tools, and methods to get through the course. I would've preferred more sample micro-interactions such as hover menus and slide show image galleries. However, I enjoyed the course and learned a lot.

I pretty much covered everything i needed to learn on this Adobe XD course. Dan is a great instructor and has a great personality, which really helps with the learning process.

Excellent course. Dan explains everything in detail and keeps reinforcing it throughout to course making it very easy and interesting :)

It was good and very perfect. I believe almost every details was touched and taught. I had some problems with the micro interactions (deep ones though) but I managed to scale through a lot and would need to do some more studying on the interactions. Overall, it was wonderful and I am so happy I went through with this course.

Daniel Scott is an excellent instructor. This is my first course by him but it sure wont be the last!- Very thorough Lessons- Detailed explanations- Very helpful exercises throughout the entire course- He doesn't rush through, easy to follow along- And most of all, makes the course very fun with his great sense of humorNot sure if he reads this comments - but if you are, thanks alot Daniel. Looking forward to taking different courses from you, cheers!

Very good course, Adobe XD is an excellent tool for UI / UX Design. I like the way instructor explain each feature of the software and put a challenge at the end of the section

good course with fun project to work on however I sometimes don't understand what he said (about 20% of the course) since i'm not native English speaker when Dan try to make a joke i have no idea about it at all LOL. In a nutshell, in overall this is good course at a reasonable price
