Born and raised in the small town of Charlton, a short ways outside of Boston, Massachusetts, Matthew Manyak has always been a highly-creative individual. When he was 12 years old, and living in the tight-knit town of Apex, North Carolina, he received his fist camcorder, a Sony Handycam. Immediately, he began creating several small-scale backyard films with his friends and neighbors, further fueling his creativity, and kindling an imaginative flame that would grow to become a dream of a lifetime of filmmaking.
When Manyak was 17, in his junior year of high school, he published his first commercial novel, Wolves of the Shadowlands, and co-founded a local photography business, Trendsetter Studios.

Since then, Manyak's films have gone on to receive national acclaim and numerous Official Selection laurels at film festivals across the country.
