Insuructor gives lots of repetition and practice, which is excellent for beginners like myself.

By Lee Gatman on 3/6/2016

The apps you create with this course all should work albeit fairly basic. Good groundwork to get used to using Xcode and some skills in creating some apps and some coding.
A lot of the 50 apps in the course are quite repetitive, but this is not a bad thing as you learn better by repeating or using similar techniques for creating an app. It even goes as far as I could see mistakes the instructor had made in either the linking or coding process. Which was obviously corrected in the tutorial. You can see that these tutorials are not scripted and it is a good thing the mistakes are left in as we are all destined to make the mistakes, so need to know how to find and correct them!
The instructor certainly knows his stuff and brings across the course quite well.

I love a good tutorial. I find these lectures excellent and easy to follow and to work along side. Wonderful introductory lectures to make us feel comfortable and go off from there.

Instructor John Bura uses a consistent method of working at XCode. He teaches not only Swift 2/XCode, etc. but also a method you can add to your workflow. The last lessons have a fairly big amount of information for those who want to use photo effects. I highly recommend this course.

very clear and concise. videos are about one specific topic so incredibly easy to follow.
Also, John gives nearly immediate feedback on any questions I have asked throughout taking this course.

By many reasons this is an impressive programming course for iOS9, and in every part of it, each lesson you take you can feel the amount of work that John Bura put in it making it easy to understand the swift programming language and even a little designing that goes to developing apps for iOS9.
It's a course so long that it wins the five stars by the amount of information it manages to convey, but that doesn't means it's as good as it could be since many lessons after a while feel kinda repetitive, and many cases the apps John Bura teaches you are just little incremental improvements of the last one you watched, that's why if, especially if you have the developer mindset, you can pass many lessons in one go without the fear of losing something important that may be useful to know, and it gave me the feel that some sections are key while others are just there for practice, which is fine if the order which the lessons are presented reflected this, but that's not the case and it made me feel a little uncomfortable seeing that in many sections where the apps just where a little more complex, but nothing you could figured by yourself. The key sections that showed new stuff where really interesting, as I didn't know the swift language before hand and now I can see why it's so popular.
Anyway, this "bad" things doesn't take away the five stars because you can feel the amount of work John Bura put in each section, to explain every app from beginning to end, and I know that this a compilation of nearly all the programming courses John Bura has in Udemy but that doesn't take away points from the course, but surely it could be better organized and easily could apply "Less is more", as also add other kind of apps that introduces new concepts of xcode and the swift language that aren't covered in the course.
If you're starting in the programming world this is one of the best courses you could take, although you will surpass to more complex concepts soon afterwards, but for learning and especially if you want to have an app business then you will little more afterwards.
Sorry if my English is weird, it is my second tongue.
Anyway, five stars. This course could use "less is more" and more diversity to make it stand out more between Udemy courses about Swift 2.0 (At the time of the review) but it is really good as it is now. As I said in the tittle of this review, fairly impressive course.

The instructions are clear and easy to understand. You will get plenty of practice if you code along. For true beginners this is a good place to start.

By Ucze Sie on 10/26/2015

I have had no experience in programming but was familiar with a few terms such as function, variables etc. This course is designed to make you understand logically and by connecting all the dots step by step. It is interactive and fun. The best way to learn coding is to just start coding and this course delivers that.
Thank you :)

The instructor on this course is one of the best. Also the course itself is full of information and very enjoyable. Swift is turning out to be a very powerful language that is full of surprises. Thank you Apple. Great stuff!!

Easy to understand short lectures and step by step guides.

By Natasha Godwin on 6/14/2015

The instructor quickly introduces the basics and then dives right into app development, which is great for those who learn by doing. Each app you build offers a framework that you can expand upon later. Two out of the three apps I'm currently building were inspired by projects in the course--and I've only completed 27% percent of the material so far! Out of all of these tutorials I've tried -- on Ray Wenderlich's website, AppCoda, and the like -- these have given me the most ideas for product development. Highly recommended!
