Course Description

With this world-wide lock down in effect, there isn't a better time to sit down and learn how to make games in Unreal Engine 4 :)This course is designed for beginner to intermediate users of Unreal Engine 4 (6+ months of using the engine). I recommend that you have at least a basic understanding of the Engine. I move fast at times and I expect you to figure things out on your own by pausing the video if needed. Purchasing this course does NOTgive you personal consulting from me for basic issues. You can always hire me for that separately.
Action RPG's can be complex to create with many systems working at once. I've been working with the engine for many years, and it is my goal to teach you step-by-step how to build a fun, challenging action RPG from scratch.
Thanks to Epic, there are thousands of assets that are free to use. We'll start by importing one of the Paragon characters from the marketplace. We'll then use Blender to detach the sword and shield from the mesh and import it back into UE4. Don't worry, I'll teach you how to do this step in Blender. It's quite easy!
You'll be learning how to pick up and equip weapons, shields and helmets.
You'll learn how to setup abilities to use against monsters.
We'll create AIthat attacks the player with several different abilities and is challenging.
We'll create a nice looking, AAAquality environment to play around in using Quixel Bridge, Megascans, and assets from the Unreal Marketplace.
You'll learn how to kill monsters and collect Souls/experience points.
Speaking of bonfire, you'll learn how to create a bonfire save system that resets the AIand brings you back to full health.
We'll also setup a simple multiplayer inventory system using a free component I found on Reddit hehe.
And all of this will work for multiplayer as well so you and your friends can play together!
Souls-like RPG's are probably the most popular type of game on consoles. So, we'll make sure you can play with a Gamepad as well.
If you've always wanted to make a fun RPG, why not join this course and come along while I build? It will be a fun, on-going process and you can help me make it great.
Join now and let's get started!
Who this course is for:
This course is for those who desire to learn how to develop games efficiently. Most tutorials (and projects) do things poorly and teach bad habits. I'll show you how to do things correctly.
If you love souls-like action RPG's, then come with me on this journey and let's create!

With over 5 years of development in Unreal Engine, I've decided to bring my skills to Udemy. I've helped various people over the years create RPG and FPSgames with a main focus on multiplayer. In my spare time, I continue to develop my own RPG game. I love teaching and have been helping developers like yourself in Unreal Engine 4 for several years. Let's create games together and make the design process a fun, enjoyable experience.

Hi Jeff loving the tutorial bro but one suggestion don't remove the old tutorial but instead give it as course voucher to old course only to those who buy your remaster one.
I am saying these because something time do like to see thing do in C++ than blueprint plus if someone what to see what is like to how it done in C++ they can redeem the old tutorial from the remaster one .

This instructor knows his stuff!! I am finally doing well in an unreal course! Thank you! Also, I asked a question on Discord (vertflash is my Discord) and someone got back to me super quick to offer help and suggestions. The course is challenging but you actually feel like you are making a REAL game and the instructor is really explaining high level concepts etc. in an understandable way. Highly recommend! Also, join his discourse so you can get help if you need it.

Instructor really cares about the knowledge this course brings. The new revamped portions are very intuitive and I love to see the effort this instructor is giving this course. If you need to learn UE4, I would recommend this course

I love that you just dive in and show what's needed and have helpful hints along the way

I like the author's hands-on approach. I see that he is remastering his course right now, so I'm already looking forward to returning to it and seeing what's new. I'm enjoying the approach and a general feel to it. Of course, I hope that the course will prove useful to me, so I'll write the full review when I'm finished

I was looking for a course like this :D

He is a very down to earth teacher and his remastered stuff is great but the class for me misses the point on the multiplayer aspect as far as I can see, it is an unfinished project that is left of id say 80% done, He didnt go over exporting project, making it a single file ready to share with friends for example, implementing multiplayer. I believe it the course would be amazing if completed and actually having a multiplayer section to it.

I thought that it was a finished course when I bought it. I like the course and I've been learning, however, the only thing is that it's a bit confusing following two different versions of the course. The "Old" and "Remastered". I've been following the "Remastered" and now it's forcing me to continue with the old version. If this was a complete course, or if it would be getting updated more frequently I would give it a higher rating because it is good. This is my feedback.

Learning a helluva lot from this fantastic course. I have had a keen interest in game development for a number of years starting out with unity and have moved over to unreal. This is one of the most accessible courses I have gone through with a decent result for how far I have gotten at the time of writing this review.

Great course a lot of effort was put into making this course a big thank you to instructor and especially keeping things up to date which not many do.
