Affinity Designer: The Complete Guide to Affinity Designer (Udemy.com)

Having taken several Affinity Designer courses on Udemy, I can confidently say this is the best one. Jeremy is a tremendous instructor whose teaching method is both thorough and inspiring. Although the course is designed for beginners, he doesn't just cover the fundamentals; he enhances every lesson with professional insights and clever uses of the software, so nothing ever feels repetitive or dull. I loved that he teaches with the mindset of training professional designers, offering practical tips from his own experience which should be hard to find elsewhere. Highly recommended.

Well what can I say about this course. It was excellent and Jeremy Hazel is a great teacher. Over the many hours I began to think of him as an old friend. I sat through both the V2 and V1 elements and I found the V1 side of things easier to follow as I had already got a good grounding from the first part of the course. In fact, the AF program itself is amazingly similar to the old Adobe Fireworks, the program responsible for more than a few lost weekends many years ago as I struggled to learn it myself. Thanks to Jeremy's super clear instruction, I have completed the first three pages of my long talked about children's book and I am confident of finishing it. Would highly recommend this course to everyone interested in AF. Its ok to muddle through with YouTube, but you cant beat a targeted well put together course like this and although a long way from being expert, my fear of the program and the power of it has vanished. All in all, very pleased with Jeremy and the course. Would recommend this to anyone.

I really am enjoying the comprehensive Affinity Designer class by Jeremy Hazel. Concepts are clearly explained. I like the fact that we get to apply what we learn to some cool projects and that all the files are provided for us to help us check our work. I also like the Q&A section that is provided, which has helped me on areas that I was stuck.

I currently use Affinity Design 2.3 I love it. Jeremy updated to the new version of Affinity Design v2, and this is amazing. Im watching his lessons and enjoying just to practice. Old comment about this course. I am in section 10 of the course I had given 4.5 stars at the beginning, but I went up to 5 stars. The course is excellent. Explains how the tools work, and a lot of the creative workflow. The explanation about "blending modes" was very good and the explanation about using masks WAS PERFECT cleared up doubts and fixed the knowledge that I could never understand using Photoshop. I liked the tips on color palettes. I would like the course to have a continuation (The Complete Guide II) to deepen the knowledge through large fictitious projects, about cards, banners, advertising, some specific material for illustration with pen tool (full of booklets with step by step) things like that. I recommend it to everyone who wants to learn or want to fix the knowledge. The teacher is very good, the information is objective and he manages to simplify a lot of the language and if you already have knowledge of painting, photography or vectors the content of the course multiplies by 100.

Just finished the course (March 31, 2020). It's brilliant. The instructor, Jeremy, is very knowledgeable and has provided excellent hands-on projects to practice as you learn. I have learned a tremendous amount about Affinity Designer and about creating artwork from sketch to finished artwork. Highly recommend. Thanks for providing updates as AD has evolved.

Mist teveel structuur die beginner broodnodig heeft om dit programma te leren kennen. Gaat in de oefeningen ook veel te uitgebreid in op details waardoor overzicht en doel verloren gaat. Een brush zelf leren maken bvb, is advanced lijkt me. Terwijl amper wordt ingegaan op de échte basistools. Ook te weinig écht toepasbare onderwerpen. Een background vr poster-design of een logo bvb, worden niet of amper besproken. De man heeft ongetwijfeld een bijzonder grote kennis - dat etaleert hij ook graag -, maar het pakket ‘hapbaar’ overbrengen voor échte beginners, daar slaagt hij volgens mij echt niet in. Gelukkig wel andere cursus gevonden die dat heel wat beter aanpakt...

Okay - after a bit of a gap I completed the course. Short review - invaluable, it's been a handy for reference as well when I've forgotten how to carry out a certain process. Longer review - This has been a great course for me and I've learnt a lot - not just about affinity design but composition and putting together a graphics piece in a lot of different areas. There is a lot of stuff I could carry over to any drawing or painting app. It has also made feel that I've made the right decision moving from Adobe to Affinity - economically it just makes so much more sense - and with tutorials like this I'm wondering how fast the transition will be away from Adobe. The only thing affinity has to do now is get it out of everyones heads in industry that we need adobe - soak up the pain doing a bit of relearning but save huge amounts of money (okay big businesses just claim it back in tax - but one man bands starting out don't have that option). Slightly annoying (and my only gripe - but not worth marking them down for) was they updated the course after I had completed a big chunk of it and they've basically pasted the units to the end of the new units. Unit 1 basically had me starting from scratch and covering a lot what I had already done.

I started with no experience in affinity. I don't think I went from zero to hero but I do feel comfortable using affinity designer and a lot of its functions. The course is well designed and presented. I took the course in hopes of learning a lot about SVG files to be used with die cutting machines. I realize this was a very specific goal and the course was not designed to be that specific. I did learn how to create SVG files and with some practice I should be able to use affinity to help me with my goal. Over all the course is 5 star. Thanks
