With over 20 years tattooing , and almost 40 of being a creative I have been into art since I got something I can draw with in my hand. Starting out in more traditional mediums I cut my teeth in pencil, charcoal, and acrylic painting until discovering tattooing. This began a love affair with art and lead me to open 7th seasons studios. Nothing inspires a higher level of perfection than knowing the client will walk around with my art for the rest of their lives.
After completing a masters in business and having to manage the marketing of a successful shop I quickly realized that the future of art is digital and I began making my own show banners and managing my own website. This sealed the deal and digital art has replaced the traditional pen an ink for me.
Furthermore the industry has changed to such a degree that more and more clients and artists are demanding digital skills i the design and application of art, and so I saw a significantly under served market in people with existing talent, but lacking digital
As a career teacher the most rewarding portion of what i do is seeing someone learn what they previously thought what out of reach and gain a confidence through the learning process....I identify with that because i m a firm believer in the beginner mindset and the idea of a life long learner. To me, art is as essential as breathing and I cannot even narrow down all the ways I express myself through various mediums, that is one of the best competitive advan

Yeah that's what I was looking for, learn the tools available in this great software (Affinity)

Im nearly at 50% of the course so far. I have to say this has been a great course for me and I've learnt a lot - not just about affinity design but composition and putting together a graphics piece in a lot of different areas. There is a lot of stuff I could carry over to any drawing or painting app.It has also made feel that I've made the right decision moving from Adobe to Affinity - economically it just makes so much more sense - and with tutorials like this I'm wondering how fast the transition will be away from Adobe. The only thing affinity has to do now is get it out of everyones heads in industry that we need adobe - soak up the pain doing a bit of relearning but save huge amounts of money (okay big businesses just claim it back in tax - but one man bands starting out don't have that option).Slightly annoying (and my only gripe - but not worth marking them down for) was they updated the course after I had completed a big chunk of it and they've basically pasted the units to the end of the new units. Unit 1 basically had me starting from scratch and covering a lot what I had already done.I suspect - because I haven't yet gone through the whole of the old units - that there is a lot of duplication however they have introduced whole new projects in the new units so they are giving you double the opportunity to apply your learning which is more important.

Clear and good. Good examples and pro-lecturer. Excellent and practical, indeed. I also got a ?fast response to some of my questions. I can warmly recommend.

I love this course! I am learning so much with it and have already started using what I have learned on my own projects. Jeremy is a wonderful teacher and I hope he continues to make new courses!

This course was perfect as a comprehensive introduction. I know that the rest depends on me. Practice, practice, practice. Thank you for this journey.

Very informative in the course learn a lot but wasn't update whit the software and in certain points in the course wasn,t quick and to the point but overall good course.

The course is great! It was real pleasure to go through it, to do all the assignments, to learn how to create my very first art.Jeremy is a very skilled teacher, everything looks so simple when he is leading us through the software!I really enjoyed the experience and I recommend the course to anyone who wants to learn how to use Affinity Designer.

Ensea perfectamente la herramienta y da muy buenos consejos acerca de la forma de trabajar, no se queda solo en ensear como funciona todo.

This is a course for students who are completely brand new ( no knowledge of masks, layers, ect. ). Although a beginner course, it could have been condensed if he only went over the tools and showed concept techniques such as stuff in section 7. Theres a lot of fluff you could look up quite easily. If you are very new, this will ease you in to design.

Even though I've been using Designer for months doing outline vector work, there was still plenty to learn in this well executed course.

I now feel that I can transition from the ridiculously overpriced Adobe Illustrator and use Affinity Designer. There may be some limitations, but Designer is only going to get better.

Love the course, love Affinity Designer as a replacement for Adobe CC, however my gripe is that 89 or so lessons into the 144 odd lesson course, there has been no feedback on my submissions. Fine, I can compare to the tutor's and other student's work but that doesn't give me any tips or advice.
