I have always been intrigued by programming. I began building web applications in 2003 as a freelance developer using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL. Those sites were mainly e-commerce back then.
After several years of freelancing, I took on a full-time state government position developing Java web applications for the public health sector. I was exposed to an enterprise-level technology stack and performed full-stack development there. We were using the typical web technologies as well as Oracle and SQL Server databases, JBoss EAP application servers, Java EE with Spring, jQuery, Bootstrap, JSP, Hibernate, BIRT reporting, biometrics, etc. We were entirely Agile there and I progressed to a lead developer working on several large projects over the years.
For the past several years, I have been working in the food service industry as a senior software engineer. I continue to be a full-stack developer creating and supporting enterprise-grade scalable applications that are distributed across 175+ servers. My primary focus is modernizing our large portfolio of client-server applications over to web applications. The primary server-side language is OpenEdge ABL with some Java applications. All front-end web development is utilizing Angular, Angular CLI, TypeScript, Bootstrap 4, NG Bootstrap, Font Awesome, and Kendo UI for Angular.
I have spent a significant portion of my full-time development career training and mentoring others in web developm
