Complete React Developer in 2021 (w/ Redux, Hooks, GraphQL) (Udemy.com)

In multiple places, the instructor fails to mention that the changes he's about to make are going to break some functionality (e.g., when adding spinner to the shop page; when moving user auth to sagas; etc.). I spent way too much time trying to catch the error and figure out what did I do wrong, only to discover that the broken piece was SUPPOSED to stay broken for at least a whole lecture!

The course content is top notch and kept up to date. I've taken another popular React course on Udemy but this helped me understand concepts better and much deeper. I recommend anyone looking to learn React to take this course.

I am trying to take a course at college which is being taught by an instructor who can hardly demonstrate basic concepts for front-end web development. I am taking this course so that I can complete my final project and assignments which requires me to use React.

Excellent !!! The best React course i've ever seen! It is helping me a lot professionally on my side projects and regular job as a React developer. It goes deep on many react concepts that it will make you close to be an expert react developer.

It a huge course and has a lot of useful enterprise level concepts. If you have good foundational knowledge of react and redux, you will reap tremendous benefit from this course. If you are newbie, only start this course after you have understood the basic concept of react and redux as the instructor doesn't provide much explanation on basics. Since the course is quite big , if you lack basic understanding then you will quite easily find yourself lost and will quit!! 5/5 for awesome content and 3/5 for instructor's ability to make beginner students understand the concept.

Pretty good. Mostly very clear and very well managed material. Code is up to date and pitfalls are always avoided. Well done!

If you are a pretty seasoned developer and you are looking for a reference type of class to learn react and redux then this could suit your needs. It is tutorial after tutorial covering a huge range of topics, but it doesn't surpass anything beyond a tutorial type format. When I say tutorial format I mean you will be listening to Yihua (the instructor) drone on and on while you code along with what he is doing and nothing else.
As for educational value, there is very little to be found here. There are no decent concept checks as you work through the master project and, most importantly, there are no exercises, challenges, or anything interactive to aid students in applying what the are learning as you go. In any class I find this aspect to be the huge divide between just showing somebody something and actually teaching them. It's just video after video of watching a senior developer code with a "and then..., and then...., and then..." flow to it. Once you get to the redux portion, the wheels totally fall off. Methods are used with very little explanation, the instructor doesn't wait for the learner to even see the code before jumping to a different file in a lot of cases. It just felt like a fight to stay with him and I personally just lost interest from the poor presentation and decided to learn elsewhere. There are plenty of options out there.
My last point, which I'm sure is debatable, is I don't feel that this material is very current. After a lot of inquires and research I think it's a safe bet to say that Hooks are the future for React. This course focuses mostly on a class based approach and a good chunk of the material is 2 years old.

Yihua seems to really know what he's talking about, and I like how thorough he is in showing you the whole process. There is a ton to learn from this course! They definitely give you your money's worth.
My only constructive criticism is that the instructor moves VERY quickly, so I have to pause the video every five seconds to keep up with what's happening. I wish the instructor would slow down sometimes and take a breath to elaborate a little more on whats going on, or to take a second to note that he's opening a new file. It is cool as a programmer he's able to jump around files so quickly, but as a student trying to learn from watching him it's SO HARD for me to keep up. I think it would be super helpful if Yihua would announce which file he's opening up before he does it and give the students a few seconds to catch up. Same with any changes he's making - announce it before it happens, give everyone some time after the change has been made to hear a more thorough explanation and finish typing up the new lines of code, and keep the camera on the new file so we can see exactly what to write.
Thats just my two cents. Otherwise - GREAT course you guys! Very satisfied with this class and happy with the immense amount of information packed into it. ZTM classes are hands down my favorite on Udemy. Highly recommend!
