Course Description

Every nonprofit is unique. You are fighting for a specific, unique cause. You are serving a unique part of society, whether it be the dung beetles in Alaska or the homeless in Los Angeles. You have unique employees who are dedicated to your cause. You also have unique funding needs. Because there are so many things that make your organization unique, I want to help you tell your own story and apply for your own grants.
I have developed Grant Writing: How to Write Nonprofit Grants to cultivate your grant writing skills and empower you to write successful grants. There are millions of grants that you can apply for and quite a few foundations hardly receive any applications for their grants. This is money that could be accessed if you dedicate time to writing grants.
This course is designed with nonprofit organizations and their employees in mind. You will learn about the key aspects of a grant application, you will find grants that you can apply for, and you will go through the entire grant application process. Your learning will be facilitated by video presentations, worksheets, quizzes, and assignments that will solidify the grant writing process and propel you towards getting funded. Who this course is for:
This Grant Writing course is meant for potential grant writers, nonprofit employees, and anyone interested in the grant writing world. No prior experience or knowledge is required. Those who have a background in grant writing receive knowledge on how to improve their grant writing skills to promote success.

Instructor Details

Stephanie Tanner

My name is Stephanie Tanner and I am a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP). I received my higher education from Brigham Young University where I majored in Human Development and Nonprofit Management. I was also a Writing Fellow while in college, where I tutored undergraduate writing across all the curriculums. I have spent over a thousand hours working hand in hand with nonprofits around the world. I have written grants, found funding, and worked with nonprofits based across the United States as well as in Ukraine, Uganda, Ghana, Namibia, Rwanda, etc.
I decided I wanted to shift gears and teach nonprofit organizations how to write their own grants because it is so important for organizations to become independently sustainable. I hope that nonprofits can train their own employees how to write successful grant applications so nonprofits do not need to hire and pay an extra grant writer. Therefore, I designed this course with my background in grant writing, nonprofit management, and tutoring to teach nonprofits and their employees the keys to successfully write and apply for grants.

This course was a great way to polish up my Business skills

By Francis Ebigbola on 12/20/2020

The course was quite educational and enlightening,it has revealed to me the constant mistakes I have been doing over the years,in the proposals I have been writing.
I see myself writing a better proposal for the NGO for funding only to donors we are qualified to,and also be well prepared for the proposal Application presentation in terms of documentation
