Course Description

Doctors in the medical profession are all trained as doctors, but many of them become skilled in different specialties. The Technical Writing field is the same, with writers specializing in software development, IT, Aerospace, Manufacturing and so on. There are many Technical Writing courses available but most of them are designed for working in the IT and Software Development fields. But it's important to know that the manufacturing and aerospace companies hire thousands of Technical Writers / Trainers to teach people how to use, install, remove, repair, inspect, and maintain their products.
This type of Technical Writing can be as profitable and as interesting as any, but the bulk of the training available may not cover these fields.
In my course you will be given an understanding of what it's like to work in these other industries, how documents are drafted, working with graphics, the concept of writing Simplified English, and many other topics. You will be taught basic writing skills, enjoy a tour of what working in this industry looks like, and learn some valuable tips given to you from a 30 year veteran technical writer. I have worked in every industry dealt with in this course and continue to do so as a manufacturing Technical Writer and trainer.Who this course is for:
  • The target audience is beginners to experts who are interested in a different type of Technical Writing.

Peter has been a Technical Writer for over 30 years and has worked in many different industries including manufacturing, aerospace, banking, IT, software development, transportation, medical, and has even worked internationally.
Not satisfied with only this type of writing, Pete began to write books, completing four novels and two non-fiction books before turning his focus to writing screenplays. Two of his screenplays were turned into movies...one a documentary about the slow decline of Pakistani music and its revival by the Lahore Music Forum (LMF) as well as a comedy short (Copy That) in which he was both the screenwriter and lead actor.
Peter has been a lead singer and keyboard player in many bands and is also a member of the Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN). He writes song lyrics and co-writes songs with his writing partner Tom Pinsent.
