Ultimate Photoshop Training: From Beginner to Pro 2026 + AI (Udemy.com)

Master Adobe Photoshop CC 2026 without any previous knowledge. Learn the newest AI tricks to get fast results like a pro

Created by: Cristian Barin

Last updated April 2026

Our take

Based on the ratings of 30,804 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in April 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

A long, exercise-driven tour of Photoshop that starts from zero and reaches generative fill, neural filters, Camera Raw and Adobe Bridge. The syllabus shows 220 lectures over 22 sections, about 22.6 hours in total, with cheat sheets for each lecture and more than 300 PSD files to work from. It is built for beginners and self-taught hobbyists, and the audience notes say so plainly: intermediate users should check the practice activities before buying, since much of the first half covers basics.

Reviewers like Cristian Barin's pace and the bite-sized structure: one tool, one explanation, one exercise. A photographer in the sample credits his active feedback as the difference from two other courses that got him nowhere. The complaints are mild but consistent. A two-star review says he explains what to do more than why, a four-star review wanted the same why for a lip and nail effect, and another found a step hard to follow. It's English only, which cost it one star from a Spanish speaker, though 16 caption languages are listed.

The numbers back the praise: 4.6 from about 30,800 reviews, with 176,000 students enrolled and only around 2 percent of ratings at one or two stars. It was refreshed in April 2026, so the AI sections track current Photoshop. Among the Photoshop courses on this page, this is a long, exercise-heavy option. Pick it if you want breadth and hands-on practice; pick a narrower course if you already know layers and selections.

Best forComplete beginners and self-taught hobbyists who want an exercise after every tool, plus the newest AI features.
Skip it ifYou already know layers and selections and want depth on one thing, like retouching or brush painting.

Pros

  • Every tool gets its own short lecture and exercise, with a cheat sheet to review afterward
  • Updated April 2026, so generative fill, neural filters and cloud documents are covered
  • Reviewers say the instructor gives active feedback, and the listing promises replies to most questions in under 12 hours
  • Over 300 PSD files to practise on, and the content is mostly version independent

Cons

  • A two-star review says he explains what to do more than why the tool works that way
  • Breadth over depth: 22 sections touch most of Photoshop but none goes far into one specialty
  • English only with captions, and at 22.6 hours it is a long commitment for a first course
Chris breaks PS down into bite-sized pieces. He explains the particular tool well. There are exercises for each tool.

Listed as all levels, but it is really a beginner course; intermediates should scan the assignments first.

I am a photographer. Until now my processing work was 98% done in Lightroom. My Photoshop skills were lacking. I tried two other online PS courses with little success. One was far too complex and the other too simple. Both courses lacked adequate feedback from the instructor. Without instructor feedback I would get stuck on certain points. This course is different. Chris breaks PS down into bite-sized pieces. He explains the particular tool well. There are exercises for each tool. Equally important is his active participation in the student's course work. If you have a problem or do not understand an aspect of the lesson you can post your questions and get rapid responses, usually by the next day. Chris' clear lessons and his involvement with student success make this a great Photoshop course.

How the course impacted my skills immediately: This course elevated my skills remarkably quickly. I went from hesitating in front of the screen to creating professional-quality designs, including projects such as the “LIMONADA ADEVĂRATĂ” and “Cranberry and Coconut” graphics. The transformative tools and AI features from Cristian Barin: Cristian Barin provided clear, practical instruction on tools such as AI Generative Fill and advanced selection techniques. Using AI to maintain natural, cohesive edits has significantly improved my workflow. The neural filters allowed me to refine lighting with precision, and his explanations of the Content-Aware tools made removing distractions from photos straightforward and efficient. Summary of what I learned and my confidence boost: I gained a strong understanding of both basic composition and advanced photo manipulation, including techniques typically associated with generative AI. I also learned how to create polished product layouts, such as the “Ohvăz” pudding designs, which helped me recognize my potential in marketing-oriented visual design. What I appreciated about the teaching style and pace: Cristian Barin’s teaching style is structured, clear, and engaging. He avoids unnecessary complexity and presents information in a way that is easy to follow. The pacing of the course was ideal, allowing me to absorb technical concepts without feeling overwhelmed. Each lesson built logically on the previous one, creating a cohesive learning experience. Why I would recommend this training: I would recommend this training to anyone seeking to develop strong Photoshop skills. The course provides an effective and motivating learning environment, and Cristian’s instruction helps students feel capable and confident from the beginning. For anyone looking to advance their creative career and produce high-quality digital work, this course is an excellent choice.

This is a well-structured and highly valuable course by Cristian Barin. With 22 sections, 219 lectures, and over 22.5 hours of content, it covers the subject in great depth without feeling outdated or repetitive. I have completed and attempted many courses on Udemy related to designing, software, and modern tools, and I can confidently say this is one of those courses that should not be missed. It covers a lot of important pivot sections, key concepts, practical points, and also integrates AI-related topics, which makes it very relevant in today’s learning landscape. What I appreciate most is that the course is up to date and aligned with the latest 2025 version, something that many courses fail to maintain over time. The explanations are clear, logical, and easy to follow, even for complex topics. I’ve developed a habit of learning from well-known and trusted Udemy instructors, and this course has definitely added real value to my learning journey. Highly recommended for anyone who wants practical, current, and well-explained content.

Not too bad but the teacher explains more what to do than why to do it. When he tells to do something he should first explain the effect he wants to reach and how the tool works. Only at this point he should guide you in using the tool

I've really enjoyed taking this class with Chris. He explains each step clearly, which makes even the most complex concepts easy to understand. I've learned so much, and the assignments he gives are both engaging and helpful for reinforcing what we cover. With every new section, I feel more confident in my Photoshop skills and excited to keep learning. Update: I just finished Ultimate Photoshop Training: from beginner to pro. I started off with no experience at all. I am now able to navigate around photoshop and have confidence in my abilities. I like how Chris shows you multiple ways of doing things in photoshop, because one way might not be the right solution for the project you're working on. I also enjoyed the challenges he gives you so you can master each tool. The assignments he gives helps build confidence. I am so happy that I chose Chris Barin's course out of all the photoshop courses out there. He is a great teacher, and you can tell he enjoys teaching others.

This was a great course indeed! Thanks to Cristian Sir for crafting the course so meticulously. The techniques taught were great and highly useful. I had a lot of practice assignments to learn various tools and methods. Photoshop is not an easy tool. One needs to be constantly in touch with it to remember things and discover new techniques. I must return to this course whenever I feel the need to brush up on my skills. I would like to end my review with a couple of requests. Firstly, it will be great if new lessons are introduced into the course covering the Pen Tool cousins (Freeform Pen Tool, Curvature Pen Tool, etc.). Secondly, the introduction of a lesson on the new Adobe Express (currently in beta) will be great. Specifically, how to use Adobe Firefly to create stunning AI images and then continue from there in Photoshop. A simple demonstrative project can be really cool! Thanks.

Makes the learning of PS much easier than the slower option of selftaught. Explains the various tools in a simple manner with workable examples. Enjoying the activities to imbed the skills along the way. They do however take longer than expected sometimes. End of course comment - Thank Chris for a great course, I enjoy being taught why you do things one way and not the other etc rather than just press this press that etc. with no back ground knowledge of why. I think I did virtually all the exercises which is probably why it has taken me so long to get through the course material but I can at least say I have done everything and now its just practise to perfect it. I had originally enrolled for the Photoshop web design .... course but found it necessary to do this one to get the necessary background of PS, otherwise I was struggling unnecessarily with the more advanced course. I will try and complete that one now, although my interest has shifted slightly to the photographic side of things. Thanks - see you on the next one. Regards Robin

I really learnt a great deal from this course as it covered a myriad of subjects and gave clear examples of how methods are used. It would be great to learn in a little more detail why we use certain options when making effects ie) 50% gray scale rather than a normal layer or the difference between various layers but I appreciate that would make the course a lot longer and isn't essential for someone starting out learning Photoshop. However, I feel this course is well worth the money and I would take a course from Chris again to learn even more. His dedication to providing a detailed and concise course, with thoughtful tips and his wealth of knowledge is applauded. Thank you again!

By Elizabeth Anne Schoeman on 7/28/2019

Initially I was sailing through, but now I am sometimes struggling a bit. It makes me sit down and review what has previously been taught. I do however think that for absolute novice Photoshop learners like myself, there are times when important small pieces of information are left out and this sometimes poses a challenge for me. I however go back to the screen version of the course and look to see what mode or button is being used in the tutorial and this normally has me back in the game. I also have the disadvantage of being 70 years old, not from the computer age and not as clued up as most of Chris's younger computer savvy students. I am loving the course, despite my lack of computer savvy. A challenge is only an obstacle to be mastered.

By Daniel Vialet on 3/2/2019

Ok, to be totally honest, I had to take this course twice. The first time I got lost. The second time, I was able to complete it. I think the course is good, but two things. First there are times that he talks to fast, click somewhere that I did not notice and I got lost. Other times the course covered things that I was just not interested in, such as web design. On the positive note, I like that it had all the material you needed and you could follow along. I like that it covered the all the important parts of Photoshop. Lastly, as of April 2020, it was up to date using CC version. One last thing, I like that I had a question and Christ answered it. Overall, it was worth the money. Take it
