Course Description

The course gets updated frequently - Last update: 15. of October 2019

Have you ever had an Idea for a program, an app or a game?
Maybe you want to work as a developer? Then you are at the right place. In this course you are going to discover how to become a c# developer - one of the best programming languages on earth!
C# is one of the few programming languages which allows you to create amazing cross platform Mobile Apps, Games and PC Programs.
Bringing an Idea to life is one of the best feelings one can have, but the path to get there is often full of challenges. So I have created a course that makes this path as easy as possible all with the help of c# so that you become a skilled c# developer!

You start off by learning the C# basics and C# programming concepts in general:
  • variables
  • methods
  • arrays
  • if statements
  • loops
Then you learn the three pillars of Object oriented programming.
  • Classes and Objects
  • Inheritance
  • Polymorphism
Once you mastered them you will go into advanced C# Topics, such as Databases and LINQ.
In order to really become really good in c# programming, you have to program yourself, so I have created loads of exercises (and quizzes) for you to try for yourself to do c# programming and also to see how it is done afterwards. Of course you learn best programming practices along the way.

Equipped with those skills, you will build beautiful user interfaces with WPF - A framework, which makes creating GUI's a piece of cake.
By that point, you can create your very own complex programs.
But what comes next is even cooler.
Learn Game Development with Unity and C# - Build 2 awesome games
As C# can be used for multiple different areas of programming, I have decided to cover the most important ones. So I have added a whole bunch of chapters specifically designed for a C# developer and Unity game developer - arguably the best Game Engine in the world. In those chapters you will discover how to create your very own video games by building pong, the mother of video games and zig zag, an amazing and successful endless runner game.
We live in a world, where knowledge and work are shared more than ever, so using assets provided by others is a huge boost to your progress. You will learn how to use 3D assets to make an endless runner. Then you'll use animations, reset the game, use particle systems and finally create a map procedurally. That's quite some advanced stuff right there.

I know that learning to code can be hard at times, and sometimes you just get stuck. But no worries, we are there for you. We answer each question as quickly as we can and make sure that you reach your goal of becoming a developer.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

The course is for anyone, who wants to learn c# and wants to become professionally good in c# programming. No experience is required what so ever. It is designed that anyone who can handle a mouse and keyboard will succeed finishing it. The only real requisite is the desire to learn.

I took the C# class to enhance and expand my programming background when working within cross product applications. And Denis presented the C# course very thoroughly and at a level I could easily follow. Good job Denis!

Overall the course is very beneficial and Mr. Dennis shared so much information giving high value to the course. However, some concepts was not clearly explained which could easily lead to confusion and could stop the learning momentum. Also, I hope for him to add to this course a detailed information about how to actually implement/publish real world application to a single or group of user.

It is very compact and I think it has everything you need as a beginner. I bought it 3 weeks ago and I finished it today (i skipped Unity since I am not interested in that). The course is very engaging and gives you plenty of opportunities to try things yourself. While i was doing the course it got an update explaining delegates and lambda functions better. That was the only complain that i had but it got fixed before i finished.

Starts great, but later lessons starting with WPF get confusing. I'm having a hard time with the SQL section. I'm hoping things will start to click when I retake the course after I learn a little about SQL.EDIT: I'm revising my original rating of 3.5. Course is frequently updated and instructor has taken feedback and course is improving. The SQL and LINQ sections still need some work but provide a good foundation and the Unity section is great so far!

The Good:++A very thorough introduction to C# including an introduction to game design in UNITY.++An active Q&A that's quick and responsive for any questions you might have.++Fun challenges are peppered throughout the course that helps reinforce what you learned.Opportunities for Improvement:--I would like to see even more challenges throughout the course and even a quiz or two that test the understanding of the learner.--While the instructor does a wonderful job explaining the many C# and Unity programming concepts and commands, sometimes new C# concepts are abruptly shown without any introduction or explanation, leading to some confusion.Additional feedback:This course is a very strong introduction to C# and I recommend it for anyone wanting to jump right in. I am already proficiently knowledgeable in programming logic and design, and took the course more as a refresher so that I could migrate to Unity development. One concern I have, however, is that sometimes new syntax commands are used with either no introduction or with an all too brief explanation. Many people learn differently but for most people, material retention happens when the learner understands the logic (or the WWHW): The What, Why, How, and When. What is it? Why would I need to know this? How do I use it? When should I use it (and when should I not use it)? With this in mind, I feel this course can be even better if it takes just a little more time walking through the logic (WWHW) of the various programming concepts. I especially feel it is important to also not write any new syntax commands without first properly introducing them and fully explaining the WWHW so that learners can relate to it more. If a line of code cannot be thoroughly explained, then I believe it should not be used as it may confuse the learner (and confusion is the death of material retention).

Helpful course for beginners with a variety of subjects covered.

The course is good for both beginners and for people who have already some experience in C#. I learned new things from this course but some sections should be extended like the Thread section or some concept should have been explained further like the Delegates.Overall the course is excellent.

I like the way that you teach! I'm a dev and if i had viewed your course before, i would have learn faster.

Very good and comprehensive course.I updated my score after talking to Denis, and some parts needed a little upgrade and he promised to do some changes.Other than some parts, It is one of the most complete courses on udemy , or actually anywhere else . I understand in some parts he can't go deep enough, because those parts need a course of their own ; But think of it this way: After finishing this course , you'll have a good understanding of what is going on , what different technologies are ,and after that it is up to you to take your new understanding to the next level depending what your purpose of learning C# is . For example, improve your understanding of MS SQL server ,etc.Thank you very much Denis...

The course is perfect for those who want to learn C# from Basics.Material provided with the course is relevant as its coding material so its correlated.i have just one suggestion is that can you add more exercise module/practice example sets which will help to gain more coding knowledge.Overall its a fantastic course to learn c#

Really good course, BUT:-android studio and unity ads services topics should be updated :(Everything else is working as on tutorials. This coure is really great start in unity game developement and c# programming ;)

By Francis Rufiange on 3 months ago

This course is a great introduction to everything C# related and covers most of the basics. The range of topics covered is the highlight for me here. That being said, I would recommend this course to people who have prior programming experience, because the rhythm accelerates pretty fast towards the end, especially in the Unity section. The new features taught are frequently out of context : you'll learn how to code them, how to make them work, but might not know what they are and what they are used for. But, if you are willing to take your time, do your own tests, pause the videos and search online documentation to complete the missing information, you will definitely be satisfied with what this course has to offer.
