Chris Dixon

Hello, My name is Chris and I am a web developer and online teacher. I am passionate about what I do and about teaching others. I have started various online and offline businesses.
Whatever your reason for learning to build websites you have made an excellent career choice.
My personal motivation was to become my own boss and have more freedom and flexibility in my life. I also enjoy the technical challenge it provides and the way it constantly evolves. I built my first website back in 1999 and i have watched the web evolve into what it is today.
I try to make my courses enjoyable and try to remember what it was like when I was learning. I also believe the best way to learn is by doing and try to include as many practical examples as possible in my courses.
Thanks for taking an interest and I look forward to you joining me.
Chris

Very clear and simple to follow. The individual lessons are short but they build up to a useful amount of knowledge. For the first time, I feel I really understand Javascript.

Chris does an outstanding job of getting to the level of the student and putting it in words that they can understand. Not many teachers have that quality.

Really enjoyed & understand JavaScript better after taking this course. Thank you

I don't know what is it about this particular instructor, but he can take a topic I'm completely lost in (such as JavaScript) and make it make more sense to me. I'm by no means anywhere NEAR where I need to be in my understanding of JS, but I'm so much closer than I was before I started this course (and I've taken other courses). This is my 3rd Chris Dixon course, and as soon as I finish this, I'm already signed up for my 4th.

I tried learning the basics of Javascript from other online courses but they usually lacked in some way. This course was the one that finally helped me learn JS. The instructor was well-spoken and knowledgeable, plus, the pace was just right.I'd definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn JS.

If you've been learning to code for a while doing HTML and CSS but are putting off JavaScript. STOP.I used to think I wouldn't 'get' JavaScript, I tried a few courses and got bored with the basics/fundamentals wondering when/if it would actually be useful.Knowing there would be a mini challenge or project within a couple of lectures got me through the theory.Right now I'm confident in the basics and am writing functions and changing elements on the page.

Everything is clearly and logically explained. I like the mini challenges, they really help in understanding the concepts that are taught. My only criticism: I felt a lot of the last project was way too challenging to do on my own and so I just mostly followed along with the teacher. Did have a pretty good idea how to do the functions though.

This was my first time with JavaScript (or any programming language). I feel like this course was a great, succint overview of JS basics with a lot of mini-projects along the way.The projects are a great way to practice what you just learned, but some parts might need Googling to figure out.It helps if you're familiar with HTML, CSS, & Bootstrap, because they are used in the projects and referenced in functions. If you don't know them, he walks you through everything anyway. The course is only 5 hours so it doesn't go very in depth on each topic. I'd recommend further reading and taking another course afterwards. However, the projects are a nice way of seeing a little bit of what JavaScript can do!All in all a great intro to JS. I took this as a primer to give me an idea of what I'm getting into with a more comprehensive course I'm taking next.

If you are new to Javascript or have your some experience but concepts like triggering an event from a click or when a HTML page detects keyboard input from a user is unclear to you, this course explains those methods well. Does it cover Javascript in its entirety? No, once you complete this course, you will want to start creating things. The structure of this course puts emphasis on projects, showcasing how what we learn can be applied to our webpages and beyond. Instructor moves a decent pace. Hopefully there will be a intermediate and advance courses down the line.

Thank you for a great course! The instructor is very knowledgeable and explains each lesson very clearly. It's very easy to understand and follow along.

Javascript is becoming clear to me because of this course.

Great course well explained
