Cons

    • Roughly 80 percent of students who take this course pass their certification test.
    • Information in the course thoroughly covers exam materials.
    • Instructor knowledge is impressive. Clearly this is someone who has been successfully guiding people through certification for years.
    • Overemphasizes memorizing test material. Does not teach AWS from a developer standpoint.
    • Practice exams are more valuable than the videos for test prep. Videos do not cover the same materials as the practice exams.
    • Video pace is too fast and shallow.

Great course, there is always room for improvement though. Thanks Cloud Guru.

By Tarun Singhal on 12/27/2020

Quiz asked at the end are more than what is covered in course content.
So is it all the content is not covered? And The topic covered by AWS employee is not clear,Ryan explanation is good. Can you please update those with some other person or elaborate more.

By Ashish Agrawal on 12/20/2020

Topics are not covered in details. They are just touched. I had to google and also look at AWS documentation to understand each and every slide. It was waste of time for me and ultimately i have to take another course. The quizzes are also not upto the standards of current exam. Quizzes resembles the "Foundation level" exam.

A LOT of services are missing from the course and some CRITICAL information (from the certification point of view) is missing from a few of the presented services.
Although the course goes in great depth explaining the services, some of the information might not be 100% relevant to the certification itself.
Also the tests at the end of each chapter have almost nothing to do with what has been presented and there are questions regarding services that have never been presented or questions for which the answer can not be found in the course.
The two tests at the end of the course have some very very old questions (3-4 years) that are know about (as being out of scope or having incorrect answers) but that have not been fixed

over all the course is good, can you help to improve the practical exam interface. There are bugs in exam reporting, I scored 68% but the system records it as failed, hence unable to complete the course.

By Sushima on 11/26/2020

The lectures are good, focusing on what is important for exam. Few lectures are too fast to follow.

By Danial Raeen Najad on 11/23/2020

yes, I feel like this teacher explains thing a bit better. (section 6, advanced IAM, lesson 71 IAM Policies [SAA-C02])

I think there is some faults in the trial exams where I can see many have written to you about them. I can write on the a cloud guru page as I have bought through udemy. One example is the question about the a failed project and how to retain data where the correct answer is to stop the instance(which I actually answered correctly somehow). It is not mentioned in the question if it is instance or ebs storage for the root volume. So that answer could be both right or wrong depending on root volume type. It is mentioned in the explanation for the correct answer, but actually cannot be used for answering the question

So far it seems like it. I've realized that this content was put together in 2018 and hoping that not much has changed in both AWS and the certification test since then - though I've found a few discrepancies here and there. But the presentation and coverage is excellent.

Excited to finally start this course! The instructor is engaging, there are plenty of labs and he is constantly reminded you of what details to really pay attention to for the exam and at the end of each section he does an exam tips summary of the entire section. Near perfect course, my only suggestion at this point (I'm about 50% through the course at the moment) would be that I wish he had a downloadable PDF that I could markup and add comments to for study preparation, but this is minor point.

By Samir Trivedi on 11/19/2020

Its too fast, The tutor speaks and displays very fast, Not all of us are super brains to understand all what's said and showed on video. Also I feel little more details might have been provided on some of the basic network stuff.

By Deepak V on 11/19/2020

I am very disappointed with this course. It only talks about the high-level stuff without going into the low-level details (which is required to pass). Throughout the course, the teacher is only reading slides and doing hand-ons but mind you AWS tests you on much lower level. I would have appreciated some Architecture diagrams + discussing edge cases which usually AWS asks in exams. Once you start doing practise tests, you will realize that you got nothing out of this. Wish I had not bought this in the first place.
