About The Author
Alberto Paro is an engineer, project manager, and softwaredeveloper. He currently works as freelance trainer/consultant on bigdata technologies and NoSQL solutions. He loves to study emergingsolutions and applications mainly related to big data processing, NoSQL,natural language processing, and neural networks. He began programmingin BASIC on a Sinclair Spectrum when he was eight years old, and todate, has collected a lot of experience using different operatingsystems, applications, and programming languages.
In 2000, he graduated in computer science engineering fromPolitecnico di Milano with a thesis on designing multiuser andmultidevice web applications. He assisted professors at the universityfor about a year. He then came in contact with The Net Planet Companyand loved their innovative ideas; he started working on knowledgemanagement solutions and advanced data mining products. He has created orhelped to develop big data solutions for business intelligence, financial, and banking companies all over the world. A lot of his timeis spent teaching how to efficiently use big data solutions (mainlyApache Spark), NoSql datastores (Elasticsearch, HBase, and Accumulo) andrelated technologies (Scala, Akka, and Playframework). He is oftencalled to present at big data or Scala events. He is an evangelist onScala and Scala.js (the transcompiler from Scala to JavaScript).

It shows how to use some commands of getting basic information of clusters, indices and shards. But it does not explain parts of the elastic search and there are none practical examples, no real life guides of what to do in specific cases. But its good for the first quick overview of the topic.
