Course Description

I've learned some of the tools with Affinity Photo, but how do I actually enhance an image, start to finish?'
That was the question I saw asked on the Affinity Photo forums. And I thought: 'Good point!' So here is a course designed with just that in mind. I take you through the development of a series of landscape photos, and we start by adjusting a RAW file in the Develop Persona which is suitable for further development in the Photo Persona. Then we take that file through every step needed to bring it to a final, polished state. Check out the free preview introduction video and see the files we start out with, and then see just how good we can make them by the end.
I'll take you through every stage and explain why we are doing things in a particular order. I've given you all the images used on the course to follow along with. I'll show you problems that can crop up and what do about them. Landscape image development brings it's own set of problems and opportunities and the various techniques I guide you through take that fact into consideration. Then I'll show you examples of using plug ins from the Nik Collection to create incredible effects.
This course assumes you have some basic knowledge of Affinity Photo but I'll also help you there. At the end of the course I've included some bonus videos which take you through the basics of the main tools we will be using. I also give you advice on where to get more tutorials and resources to take you from beginner to intermediate.
By the end of the course you will have seen and followed along with an effective workflow, start to finish. You will gain the confidence to tackle your own images and one day soon you may well be looking at one of your own photos which you've enhanced, and thinking 'That looks fantastic! I did that...'Who this course is for:
  • People who want to develop landscape photos
  • People who know the basic of Affinity Photo and want to learn more

So far, so good. Very interesting workflow, different to what I was expecting.

molto istruttivo e completo ..... tanto che lo devo riveder....

This is a really good match for me. Shows how to develop the photo from the RAW file and techniques I wasn't aware of before now.

My poor old brain is overloading with great information. Talk about a great instructor. I am hanging on every word, got my note pad going and just having a ball learning. Hope Mr. Foster does more of these advanced courses.

good tutorial explaining the possible worflow with some interesting techniques used (Frequency separation). However, it is very painful to watch as the selection of images chosen for edits is rather disappointing, some grainy snapshots with boring composition. The potentials of AP is not fully revealed as the edited images do not offer the result one would be expecting to see. Please do not take me wrong, the teacher knows well the software but decided to use is of not a great artistic value. I find it very difficult to separate the editing part from the esthetic part on an image.

Another exceptional set of tutorials on the use of Affinity Photo and additional plugins...

Cracking course, nice pace to it so far, if you can work with two screens you should (I have this playing on one and another with Affinity opened up, I also have another screen for note taking, very handy!).

Just this one lesson taught me how NOT to over-develop my RAW images in the Develop Persona which I had been doing and I am sure I was loosing shadows and highlight details.I have watched and paid for RAW developing courses and they all take RAW development to far. So far so good and looking forward to the rest of the course.

Very helpful. This is my 3rd Affinity course taken with Simon. He's a good teacher. Appreciate starting this course with a quick flow of the process - fixing one image start to finish. Then he gets into detailed explanations from there. An excellent course.

Excellent presentation.

Rather fast and would benefit from a list I could print to recall each step of the process which would enable me to research the steps more thourhoughly to improve learning/understanding

good information
