Affinity Designer: The Complete Guide to Creating Vector Art (Udemy.com)

I learned a lot, and look forward to an intermediate and advanced course from you. I want you to succeed, so I suggest the following would make it perfect: The chapter on selecting groups is not clear. I have watched it four times now and still cannot get it. I get all the rest. The last part, constructing the monster from scratch didn't have much new, but was a review of what we already learned. We can always rewatch the other videos for review. Sometimes, especially in the second half of the course, I couldn't catch where you went to find the tool you used. Repetition helps us learn instead of, "You've already learned that, so I'll skip it." It seems like you said, "right?" and "ok?" after almost every sentence. Extraneous noises can be dropped with practice, or edit them out in the video editor. Thanks for a great course.

There are not enough stars! Need more! Ronnie is a great teacher for what seemed like a very complicated piece of software at first, now thanks to Ronnie I'm in love with Affinity products! I was a total beginner and Ronnie simplified it for me and now I'm confident user, using Affinity every single day. The course is just about at the right pace to follow along and gives you the foundations to do almost anything. Ronnie, can you do an advanced course in Affinity Designer please please please? That would be fab. Highly recommend! :-)

To much "Go figure it out yourself" not prepared, very slapped together. I did not feel that the creator knows to how Properly teach, I felt left in the dark. He always gives the Reference files, but never shows a complete project, but gives you what he finnsed of camera ( in my eyes unprofessional even if it is for beginners). So in other words you are left with partial projects that you have to go figure out on your own. Sorry, but promises weren't kept and yes maybe he knows his stuff, but you can't shoo the beginner away by saying stuff like " you should get to know that tool" and " go look in the 'help' section first" All in all I learned maybe 30min from the hole Course and that sped up x2. No updates either. My advice become more self mature and focus on a start to end. Don't Skip things because they are harder to explain. Take more time off camera first before engaging with your teaching style. Greetings P.S

This course is a great introduction to Affinity Designer, and also vector graphics. Ronnie explains all the important tools well and introduces good habits of an organized designer, which is great! The only minor complaints I have are: 1. repeating "send me an email, tweet, ..." at the end of every clip gets quite annoying after watching a few of them :) 2. audio quality in few of the clips is quite bad and/or out of sync Also, I would suggest using a script, and sticking to it. Sometimes, it felt like the instructor was unprepared. Overall, great course! Definitely recommended if you just bought Affinity Designer and want to get a crash-course.

I learned so much from this course! The beginning of the course offers a lot of detail about Affinity Designer basics which is great. But what's special about this course is that after the basics are in place things really take off as the lectures move into the creation of actual projects. It's a lot of fun, and for me it took quite some time to work through the course because I was so inspired by the projects that I would put it aside for a bit to work on my own ideas. Watching the lectures is like looking over the instructor's shoulder as he works, and I picked up all kinds of handy tips, not only about Affinity Designer, but about computer graphic design in general. Ronnie McBride is also very quick to answer questions, and the classroom is very interactive. Definitely one of the better courses I have taken here at Udemy!

I just finished the course and have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. Every module was well put together and informative. I feel Ronnie's course gives a great basic understanding on how to get started using and being productive with Affinity Designer. I have already used it for some of my commercial projects thanks to what I learned watching these lectures. A great value for the money. Thanks so much for all your help Ronnie, I will definitely take more of your courses as they are released.

With this course, I was up & running with Affinity Designer in no time at all. The only criticism I have about this course is that the instructor talks a little slowly at times(For me at least. YMMV) & sometimes digresses from the point, or repeats himself. (Although repetition is not necessarily a bad thing for a beginner.) But I set the player to 1.5x speed & all was good. Overall, this is an excellent course, & I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to use Affinity Designer quickly. The fact that the instructor will continue to do lectures on new Affinity Designer features as they come out is also a good reason to go with this course. Great job on this course Ronnie!

I started this course as a complete newbie as far as graphic design is concerned, I just didn't believe that I could do this sort of stuff. Ronnie's course has changed all that because I now know how to create some very impressive designs - I've really surprised myself with what I can now do. Ronnie has a real talent with the way he teaches this course. In a warm and engaging manner he takes you step by step through the basics of the application, showing and explaining the techniques so that you can then easily do it yourself within your own creations. In later lectures, Ronnie presents some more advanced techniques allowing you to create some quite stunning designs. I particularly enjoyed his coverage of texture gradients, and really surprised myself with how I was able to easily apply this to my own projects. I highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn Affinity Design and, in particular, if you want to learn great graphic design techniques from an acclaimed expert.

Hey Ronnie, great course, thanks for that. For me, as an already oldie in the business it was nice to see how you managed the course and showed what AD is capable of. Still I was kind of missing a bit of a red line during the whole course, sometimes it gets a little (really just a little) messy (concerning shortcuts for example). Still I loved the course, thanks for your effort and the time you invest. It was really charming
