#1 Sourdough Bread Baking 101 (2021)
4.7
(Edited: Course Updated August 2019)Tired of baking bricks when everyone else is baking super gorgeous sourdough bread with a holey crumb and crispy crust? Change all of that by enrolling in "Sourdough Bread Baking 101."This is the sourdough baking course you need if you are just starting out in sourdough bread baking. In my other courses, I teach how to bake all sorts of sourdough breads, but in this course, I won't load you down with lots of information, just enough so it is easy and fun to bake your first loaf of sourdough. You will first learn how to make your own sourdough starter at home, day by day with detailed instructions, videos and a free pdf downloadable booklet. Next, you'll move onto baking waffles to test your new sourdough starter and then onto your first sourdough test loaf. Once you've taken a basic white sourdough loaf, steaming hot, out of your own oven, you will be ready to move on to more complex formulas. There are two basic sourdough bread formulas in this course. I call them "First Loaf" and "Second Loaf." We will follow the easy step by step directions of the process together. The first loaf is easy. It is a one day round boule with a lower hydration dough, which means it is not too wet or sticky. The second loaf is a two day high hydration dough and is a batard or French style loaf. Working together, I will show you how to handle a wet, sticky dough and how to do an autolyse. This bread results in a lovely tasting bread with large holes and a wonderful crispy crust. This course is for BEGINNERS who have no idea of how to bake with sourdough or those who have tried and stumbled. I have fifteen years of experience teaching the newbie sourdough baker, so come on! Let's have some fun! You know want to!
This course would make an excellent gift for the aspiring baker in your family circle, whether an older baker or a young new baker. Some skills you will learn:
How to make and care for your own sourdough starterWhy it's important to weigh ingredients. Gathering some basic baking equipmentHow to mix and fold dough. No kneading here.
Shaping, scoring and baking the dough.
What to do after you've baked your first loaf... hint (bake your second loaf!)When you have finished Sourdough Bread Baking 101, you will have the confidence to not only bake using your own sourdough starter, you will be ready for more advanced sourdough baking techniques which will enable you to bake all sorts of sourdough artisan breads. by Simon H - Brilliant!
I've checked out many sourdough baking texts and videos but then I discovered Teresa! Absolutely brilliant, not least, Teresa uses highly accurate gram measurements and not flippin' cups (what's more she explains why cups are an inaccurate measure). The course takes the student by the hand and slow, confidently and kindly walks through each step simply. There's no technical jargon and no assumption that the student knows this or that before setting out. The texts are clear, the videos are clear. This is without doubt the best sourdough bread making course I've ever seen. Thank you Teresa!
by Jeni H - Absolutely fantastic!
I have enjoyed this course so much, I'm baking my loafs right now! I found this course answered so many questions I had about making sourdough, I would highly recommend it to anyone starting out!

Fundamentals of Garden Design (2021)
4.5
This is a beginner/intermediate level gardening course in landscape design.
Landscape design is morethan selecting plants for a project, it is the integration of all the elements and spaces that affect our outdoor living environment. In this course you will l be introduced to the objectives and principles that are essential to developing a strong design solution for either yourself or for a payingclient, all the while you'll be introduced to new garden and design ideas to help grow your design company. With lessonscovering how to interview the client, design contracts, form composition and selecting a design approach this course is a comprehensive and in-depth journey into the world of truly creative garden design. The practical skills of drafting to scale, and site surveyswill be explained.
Finally, how to take these skills, draw your garden design and create a conceptual garden plan for yourself, family or clientwill be covered in detail.
This is a course on garden design - not gardening. It is also NOT a course using computer aided design (CAD). The instruction will be in using pen, ink and paper - what I believe is the starting point for all design even if you choose to usea computer program later on. CAD is simply a tool, but if you do not know the basic principles and objectives of design, CAD won't help you. You'll simply do poor designs faster!
The conceptual plan is the starting point for any design project, opening discussion and refining the plan before construction drawings are prepared and it is this approach to design that I will be explaining, demonstrating and clarifying for the student.
What you will get out of this course:
74 lectures walking you through the entire process of creating a conceptual garden plan including garden design basicsApproximately 7 hours of instructionLifetime access to the instructor for advice, plan critique, contract review and encouragementLifetime access to the course and resources30-day, money back guaranteeCertificate of Completion when you've finished the CoursePure and practical advice Personal guidance and mentoring from someone (me!) who has been designing and creating gardens for over 35 yearsWho this course is for:
This course is for gardeners, landscape contractors, designers and students interested in improving their design capabilities. This course has been developed for those interested in learning landscape design including site surveys and basic differential elevation surveys.[object Object]

Animal Communication For beginners (2021)
4.8
Have you ever wondered how animal communicators do what they do and wanted to do it for yourself but believed that you needed to have some kind of special gift, or unusual ability to have conversations with animals? I am a professional animal communicator and I have created this course to tell you that communicating with animals like I do is something that everyone can do... including you! For some people the results come instantly and they are able to start receiving messages after their first attempt, others have to develop their connection over time. Both ways, practice is vital and I highly recommend practicing with other peoples animals and not your own upon completing the course, which is why I have provided a practice group with the course or you may practice on the Udemy platform. Once you are more confident in yourself you can communicate with your own animals. Maybe you are interested in this course because there have been times when you know that your animal is trying to tell you something and you would like understand what that is. Or perhaps you would like to find the underlying cause of a behavioural challenge that you are experiencing with your animal. Even if you want nothing more than to have a casual conversation with your animal friend, then this course is for you. Please be aware that animal communication is a gift for life and should be respected, this is not a quick fix it does require practice like any language you learn! Having said that please check out the great reviews to see how many students have already had great results! I have taken the techniques that I use as a professional animal communicator, that I learnt after years of study and broken them down into this basic course, the aim of which is to explain the process of communicating with animals in a basic and simplified way. It gets right down to the practice of animal communication without the need for a lot of study or meditation. Because you don't need to be spiritual to communicate with animals, there is no need to follow a complicated routine to be able to connect with animals telepathically, but you do need to be willing to put what you learn here in this course into practice. You will need to practice!!
In this course, I will teach you the tools you need to deepen your connection with your animal and develop a more conscious communication with her. I cover the concepts behind animal communication, what it is, how animals do it and what you will need to do to prepare yourself for this kind of communication. You will learn techniques for quieting your mind and protecting yourself, and the animal before connecting with them. I will give you the link to a group where you will be able to practice what you have learnt in the course with other student's animals. I encourage you to keep a journal of your communications, as this will help you greatly during moments of self-doubt. You will have the tools and the knowledge necessary not only to start communicating but also to guide you through what you can expect along the way. I was not born psychic, I have spent years of hard work and studying to get to the point to be able to communicate telepathically with animals and it is something I take great pride in. It makes me just as proud now to be passing on what I have learnt to you, so that you too can experience the great pride and joy of communicating with animals. I look forward to taking this journey with you.
Please have realistic expectations about communicating with your own animals after finishing this course. It takes practice to trust what you receive as you have a vested interest in your own animal. Joining the group and practicing what you have learnt here with other students allows you to receive validation, which builds confidence and is also a wonderful way to meet likeminded people.
Who this course is for:
This course is for anyone who wishes to deepen their relationship with animals.
For animal lovers who want to be able to communicate telepathically with their animals.
For people who feel frustrated by behaviour, training or health issues with their animals.
For people who wish they could have their animals opinion about end-of-life decisions.
Shelter and rescue workers who would like to help the animals that you work with on a deeper level.
Professionals who work with animals including veterinarians, vet nurses, animal behaviourists, pet sitters, dog walkers and horse trainers who want to better understand the animals you work with.
I would not recommend this course if you do not believe that animals are capable of thinking and feeling emotions.
Please do not take this course if you are looking for a quick fix, the process taught in the course requires practice.

Aquaponic Gardening: Growing Fish and Vegetables Together (2015)
4.6
Welcome to Aquaponic Gardening and the fascinating marriage of hydroponics (growing plants without soil) and aquaculture (growing fish in captivity). This course is based on my book, "Aquaponic Gardening: A Step by Step Guide to Growing Fish and Vegetables Together" and is designed to be easy to follow, comprehensive, and fun.
Most of the lectures in this Aquaponic Tutorial are what is called a Video / Presentation Mashup at Udemy. What that means is that you will see a video of myself or Alan (my husband and partner) talking and demonstrating on the left, and PowerPoint slides on the right with details to keep the concepts straight. But you don't need to do anything - the slides will just appear at the correct time!
At the end of this aquaponic gardening course there is a series of articles and blog posts that I've written that I think are particularly relevant to new aquaponic gardeners who are smitten with this growing technique (and I hope that is you!) and want to dive deeper. The first article is called the "Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb" and it is a summary list of many of the concepts, principles and ratios that are elaborated on in the course.
The lectures end with some handy tracking sheets and a list of links to many of the products that are shown in the course. Some other resourcesthat will prove useful as you embark on your aquaponic journey are...
The Aquaponic Source- our company site and shopping site for all your aquaponic gardening needs
The Aquaponic Gardening Community- a thriving online community of gardeners just like you who help each other learn and grow
Aquaponic Gardening Book
Aquaponics Association- a wonderful resource for promoting aquaponics. They also put on the annual Aquaponics Association Conference.
If you like this course please be sure and review it here and tell your friends!
