Course Description

“Hey babe, what should we do for dinner tonight?”

“Oh, uh, we could go to that restaurant down the street…”

“We just ate there the other day and spent $60.”

“Yeah...maybe we should just go to Subway.”

“Again? I’m sick of Subway. Should we just eat cereal?”

“I think we have some eggs…”

“Whatever -- let’s just go to that restaurant.”

If this sounds like you, this course is for you. A lot of people don’t know what they’re going to eat for lunch or dinner, and then end up eating fast food or going out where they spend a lot more money than they would like. By learning a few simple cooking techniques, you can eat healthy, delicious food without spending a lot of time or money.

This is not a traditional cooking class in that the focus is on specific cooking techniques rather than recipes (although, you will also find many simple recipes). You’ll learn how to prepare food; how to cook meats, vegetables, and grains in several ways; how to bring a lot of flavor to your meals by putting together flavor profiles composed of certain spices; and how to safely clean your cooking area. Throughout the course, you’ll also learn about basic nutrition (e.g., carbs aren’t the enemy).

Katie Kormanik

Hi! I love creating online courses and instructional materials on topics I love. I currently offer the following:

• Buy-and-Hold Real Estate Investing (NEW) - online course

I am a licensed REALTOR® in both California and Utah (New Place Realty) and have been investing in real estate since 2016. I currently own two duplexes and a condo and have always managed my rentals myself, often remotely. I created this course to share everything I've learned about finding, rehabbing, renting out, and managing properties.

• Street-Smart Stats: A Friendly Introduction to Statistical Research Methods - digital textbook
I majored in math with an emphasis in statistics and think statistics is super important for everyone to learn. This book gives the fundamentals of building statistical thinking and being able to conduct basic data analyses.

• Chess for Total Beginners - online course
Formerly one of the top 50 girls under age 13 in the US and top 100 women chess players in the US. I barely have time to play anymore but still love the game and think everyone should learn.

I thought the class was awesome each segment I learned something new. I especially appreciated the one week meal prep for two which I can't wait to try. The receipes are quick and easy which I like. Thank You Mr. Brad!

author of this course if fun to listen to. I enjoy his talk, style and most of all his cooking methods. To me, cooking amateur, who, for long time lived on chicken with rice almost every lunch, this is really interesting and I am looking forward to try his methods and experiment a bit with foreign cuisines.

The videos are really good but I really think the recipes should be written and provided. I see many people have requested for the written recipes a long time ago but haven't received any.

It was great to see a full meal prep for healthy food, and I liked a lot of the tips, but for beginners this was missing some things. It would be nice, after seeing everything cooked, to get the written recipes - especially when the prep for one dish is spread over different videos, and each video does not have a description of what is covered in each clip. I just wanted to try making one dish, but I had to search the videos to find the steps and write down the recipe. Brad is obviously an experienced chef, so when he "throws in" some spices, he has a good idea of how much to throw in - a beginner does not. When he added meat, approximately how much? Beginners don't just know that. Tt would have been nice to know the approximate temperatures things were cooked at. I also found that the sound quality was not that great at times. When I couldn't hear what he was saying, I tried using the closed captioning, but apparently the computer couldn't hear him clearly enough, so the captioning didn't make sense either. I came away with some great general cooking tips, and the meal prep demo was good, but this could be better with more extensive written resources.

Loved this course! The cooking was simple and straight forward. I have begun to incorporate his recipes in my meal planning and just dying to get to the falafels-I love falafels.

By Hussein Farhat on 10/16/2022

It's nice to see Brad cooking like a normal person and not overcomplicating something that shouldn't be complicated. The way you cook reminds me of my grandmother's cooking, simple and straight to the point:)

You guys are so wholesome! I absolutely love how down-to-earth your videos are, and that you give demonstrations of each step of the items you cook. Somehow, I feel I'm a part of the family. P.S. Your kitchen is STUNNING.

I am really impressed by this course. Not only is it free, but also very educative and comprehendible. I look forward to more content from this creator. Thank you very much for this opportunity. All the best.

So far this course seems a good match for wht I am looking for. The lists of equipment, tools and herbs/spices is superbly helpful and exactly what I'm looking to learn. I would much prefer not to have the annoying music in the background, though. I much prefer to concentrate on what the tutor is saying, not be distracted with unnecessary background music.

I'm into this healthy cooking as well, but I'm not a chef. It was nice to see how a professional chef does things. The only think I didn't like was the Heinz apple cider vinegar. I think that version is basically white vinegar with apple juice. Braggs has a nice version of ACV. Anyway, 5 stars from me. :)
