Course Description

Are you an artist, or someone who loves art, who has been thinking about starting your own Art Teaching Business?

It doesn't matter if you want to do an art class or two for some extra part time money, or you want to start your own art school like I have done, this course 'Start & Run An Art Teaching Business' is ideal for you.

Over the last six years I have been building my art teaching business Moore Art School from home. In the process I have taught hundreds of students in my one day art workshops and more than 15,000 people in my online courses and projects. In this course I am going to give you a detailed and comprehensive look at everything I have learnt along the way.

I will share with you my failures along the way so you don't repeat the same mistakes I made, and I will share with you the actual strategies that have led me to success.

In the first section you will learn about the 3 MAJOR KEYS TO SUCCESS in the art teaching business.

Over the last few years I have trained others through my certification program (Moore Certified Instructor) how to start their own art business. The ones who achieved the most success all followed these 3 major keys to success. Now you have the opportunity to learn what they are and model them into your art teaching business.

In the second section we will have an in depth look at the day to day running of an art business. Everything is discussed from finding venues, to sourcing art supplies and negotiating discounts, choosing the subjects for your classes, to pricing and profit forecasting. The information in this section will give you a solid grounding in the important aspects of running an art teaching business.

In the third section we look at the one thing that will make or break your success ... how to ATTRACT STUDENTS INTO YOUR ART CLASSES!

This is clearly one of the most important things you need to learn and apply. If you can not attract students then you won't be in business for long.

So we will discuss key MARKETING STRATEGIES including:

  • The Number ONE Marketing Secret To Success
  • The Number TWO Marketing Secret To Success
  • How To Book Students On Your Website
  • Building An Email Database To Market To
  • How To Market Your Classes In The Local Area
  • Using Social Media to Attract and Engage Students
  • How To Get Found In The Search Engines
  • Using the Power Of The Media

PLUS ... I will share with you my FACEBOOK MARKETING STRATEGY that is attracting a large number of my students to me.

In the last section we will look at the enormous market for TEACHING ART ONLINE.

Udemy alone is set to grow to more than 100 million members in the next few years ... this means there will be lots of new students looking for art classes. When you add in sites like SkillShare, YouTube, Patreon and self hosted sites like Thinkific and Teachable well ... the market place for teaching art online is huge and growing.

So I will show you how to create your own projects and courses that you can sell on any of these platforms or on your own website.

I've personally had more than 15,000 students go through my online courses and have created more than 20 courses. So I am well positioned to be able to share with you exactly what works to start teaching art online and earning a solid part time or full time income.

This course is a comprehensive and detailed look at the Art Teaching business ... it is not a high level overview that you can skim through in thirty minutes. There is a lot to learn to start and run a successful art teaching business. You need a mentor to show you the right blueprint and help you along the way.

If you are ready to get started then register for this course today and I will show you everything I know.

the first few classes the tutor was just saying words not really going into detail just information of which social media we can use but not how, this was just an introduction as in the later videos he explain in detail and show examples really well and easy to understand, I really enjoyed the course and there is lots of value in it, I feel ready and confident enough to start my teaching business. Thank you

I'm beyond glad that I listened to this course! I have already started running my own art classes, but this course gave me the confidence that I was on the right path. There is an abundant amount of great tips, I'm truly grateful that Rod Moore has been so generous and shared so much of his positive and negative experiences with us.

Looking for details as to how to get funding, writing proposals and or grants to get started. How to offset various expenses in a business? What happens when you get overwhelmed and need to hire someone else to help you? How much should you really pay yourself especially in an economy when inflation is up?

By Gail Talmadge on 1/12/2021

Now that I am half way through, I found some parts to be hard to follow, such as when the website portion. this portion one of the longer lectures of 18 minutes seems like he just is going through his own website, which he always refers to saying you can check out my website. Better to take time to look at website on your own time, than watching him navigate it and saying sorry that it's not updated?

I thought the course may be outdated but it was even more relevant than when it was first released. I feel like I need to develop more skills, such as Toastmasters, How to use a green screen and probably need external agencies to set up a website. However, I now feel the overall task of setting up an art school is achievable with good planning and a realistic time scale. Thank you .

Rod did a fantastic job of breaking down the steps of being an art teacher. I've been teaching art for well over a decade in my studio, at local venues, at plein air events and at vacation resorts in other states. I am now planning the steps to going more virtual, and recording my classes. This course was very helpful in sharing the how-tos. I am not a beginner, but I loved seeing the steps put in a basket. He also proves how much easier it is as a business-minded person, to progress much further in making a profit with art than a strictly art-minded person. I've been studying business, and mindset for the past few years, in preparation of, expanding my reach globally and beyond my local borders, and he was spot-on about this. Thanks for the information, I am encouraged to carry on! Love and Peace, Lorina The Art Smart Lady

I thought this was a very helpful course, and really focused some ideas that have been shifting around in my head for a while. I am an art teacher, and for extra income I've tried two different attempts to create my own art teaching businesses where I followed models which did not allow for my own authentic style and ideas to be applied. With this course, I can apply the strategies Rod teaches to my own approach and create a business I would be truly passionate about. Thanks, Rod!

Very useful and informative tips and strategies in this course. I am an artist and private art teacher who struggled to really get my art business flying off the ground because I had no idea how to run it properly but now, I have really learned a lot! The instructor is experienced in this field and knows his subject very well; very good course!

By Kay Hendrickson on 8/14/2017

The first 1/2 is common sense information. The next section is full of very helpful hints and information on setting up your business and suggestions for how to obtain clients. The last 1/4 is only helpful if you plan to teach on line. I don't. I thought the section on how to edit was a bit long and drawn out. It is only useful if you use the same software he uses. Over all it is informative but I stick with my first impression of being very thankful I didn't pay $100. for this "course".

Very interesting. I have previously purchased two art courses from Moore Art School which i started working through, so I know this can be really beneficial for my own progress and as a business venture. While I am not ready to go full time into something like this financially, what I am learning from this course so far is encouraging me to see the bigger picture and even identifying ways of making it possible for me to work towards turning this passion and hobby into a business venture sooner than anticipated.
