Excellent course! Rod Moore makes watercolor painting interesting and exciting, while at the same time encouraging beginners like myself. I especially found his technique of mixing colors to create light and texture fascinating. I also found his hints/suggestions/observations regarding watercolor extremely helpful. I highly recommend this class.

The course was a good match for me as I've never tried this type of activity before now. I liked that the instructor didn't specify exactly what colors or how the sketch should be. We had a bit of leeway in that respect. I also picked up a book on beginning watercolor an used it some. I would have liked to have been able to get some feedback on the demos I finished to have some comments on them, but that may not be practical in an online art course.

I agree with the instructor's conclusion statement about having come across other understanding of watercolour concepts. I was looking forward to the demos and doing the practice exercises whether doing it along with the instructor or later while re-watching the course, however, found it quite disappointing that there was no reference material to follow along with. The disappointment continued given the instructor at one point mentions that he's "... following the photo reasonably close but not letting the photo dictate to me what I'm doing here. I'm using my eye more than anything else..." Would have been great as a student to have had the photo as a reference to see how it is being used as a guide for the instructor. I was also disappointed to see that the question about reference material had been asked a year ago and there was NO response!

Very informative. Good course, good instructor. Only concern is that the course froze lots of times. During the last demo, section 6, it froze 10 times. Somewhat frustrating. You had to advance to the next section, then jump back to get it started up again. Still glad I took the course. I will try the techniques.

Even though I am not a beginner, I did indeed enjoy his course, because I was introduced to Alvaro's brushes during his discussion. I also really liked how direct the instruction was and how he thought aloud about what he was doing, which I found insightful. I thought the 3 pictures were great choices.

Having some knowledge and practice before. I found this a good introduction for beginners or a refresher . Having the simpker colour palette and min brushes good advice too. I Liked the three real demos ,( tho the shadows perhaps were wrong direction after marking top left hand corner in 3 Rd demo .) I’d def recommend to others. Thank you

Excellent course. I have only two suggestions. (1) allow us to download or have access to the photo while we are following your instructions. I am a very visual learner and it would help a great deal to see what you are referring to as you paint. (2) Include a section on how to fix errors. What can I do if I accidentally splatter paint or if the color dries and I don't like the way it looks. Thank you for sharing your expertise. I learned so much.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class with Rod! The best part of this course was watching him walk through every single step to complete a landscape painting, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of how he got from start to finish. Rod was very easy to understand, the pace was perfect and his beginner's landscapes were fun and interesting. I'm looking forward to taking another one of Rod's classes very soon.

Introduction, but instruction very fast Could do with more of an intro to his style of colour mixing.

I really enjoyed the course ! For what ever reason though, the instruction kept buffering which made it run much longer. I checked all my internet reception and it showed to be excellent. so a little confusing. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone !
