Course Description

There’s no doubt about it:

We’re addicted to technology.

And not the “lol I’m addicted to tacos” kind of addiction.

I’m talking about a serious, productivity-draining, health-endangering, happiness-stealing addiction.

With every passing day, we are being sucked into a changing digital world that impacts EVERY part of our lives.

The worst part?

Most people just go along for the ride.

And if you’re not careful, you end up with...

  • Documents everywhere

  • Forgotten passwords

  • Lost files

  • Notifications every second

  • A sore thumb

  • Mountains of emails

... you get the point.

Heck, if your room was as messy as your digital life, you wouldn’t be able to see the floor.

But all of that is about to end.

In this course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of creating a robust, foolproof, and orderly digital ecosystem that works for you.

And, not only will we help you clean up your digital life, but we’ll also help you reestablish a healthy relationship with your technology.

The Core Of This Digital Declutter Course Involves a 4-Step Process:

  1. Step 1 → Ideal State: Here, you will learn the ‘Digital Decluttering’ best practice for each area of your digital life, and then customize it to meet your personal needs and preferences.

  2. Step 2 → Declutter: In this step, you will be guided through a process to finally let go of and delete old files, apps, and services that no longer serve your future state.

  3. Step 3 → Systematize: You will set up a new, robust, and cloud-based system to get you to your future state. This system will encourage your desired behaviors and leverage automation when possible.

  4. Step 4 → Implement: This is the technical part of getting your system up and fully functional, transferring any files as needed.

When all is said and done, you will have a proven system that you can use to get your digital life together — and keep it that way.

How This New Course Will Dramatically Increase Your Quality Of Life:

While you probably aren’t fully aware of it, your digital life is a silent chaos that is wreaking havoc on every area of your life.

Think about it for a second:

Unlike having a messy room where YOU’RE the one controlling the mess coming in, your digital mess is an entirely different animal.

Your digital mess will keep accumulating whether you like it or not.

Look:

All of that chaos comes at a cost - to your productivity, your health, and your happiness.

Whether you like it or not, the endless flood of digital mess and disorganization is taking a toll on your subconscious (and maybe conscious) mind almost every day.

In fact, research has shown that our digital interactions are not only distracting us and destroying our productivity…

They’re also making us less happy, less healthy, and less grounded.

Plus, with so much digital noise around us, even if you tried “cleaning it up” in one sitting, you know that you’d just be facing the same unruly mess a few weeks later.

With this course, you’ll say “goodbye” to your digital mess for GOOD. You’ll have everything securely backed up and organized, and you can finally be more present without the constant distraction.

So join us today to learn how you, too, can achieve Digital Zen.

I enjoyed the course and a lot of the tips and recommendations were good. It all boiled down to one main point: having 1 place for everything. One downside I would say is that the automation stuff was not discussed in the sections it was brought up. If some of the automation was included within the section/video that would make this course a bit better.

So far so good, the email advanced organization of my inbox has been life changing. I haven't really limited my email time since I work remotely and that is the main source of communication but it does feel like i am getting things done, more in control of my day and easily know what I have to do. Still getting used to searching for emails though. It helps if you remember who sent it or something in the subject.

This course would have gotten 5 stars except the section on e-mail was pretty much all about gmail. I do have a gmail account but I use it for limited things. My go to email account is netscape.net which I've had for 3+ decades. I'll check the facebook page for "Digital Declutter" but I don't think I'm going to find any help there. Also I have businessname.com email accounts. It might be good to have a section on transitioning these to gmail so the search tools are available. Thanks

I'm so disappointed in this course - I'm so busy in my daily life hence choosing this program. The history of computers, and constant talking about digital disasters is not helpful. I thought this course would help with setting up systems. This course has unfortunately put me off Udemy. I don't want to purchase any more courses for fear of being ripped off.

Outstanding. I've taken a TON of courses. This is a serious NO-BRAINER for anyone, but particularly for those who experience the affects linked with ADD/ADHD. Simple steps. Easy to use. Not boring. Can change speed. Tests/check-ins. I've already updated my inboxes, and I'm excited to keep going. Highly recommend.

When i first started i was a sceptical .."digital declutter "? but as i go deep into each lecture , i found that i had so much too learn and to declutter. I am very pleased indeed to have taken this course and i am still de-cluttering. Thank you Maya and Jonathan for all that you have put in. i will surely recommend this course to my colleagues and friends.

I liked this course and found it helpful. Before this course, my Inbox had close to 100,000 unarchived emails in it (yikes)! And I just let it keep piling up because I was so overwhelmed I had no idea where to start. But now? Inbox managed! And I no longer fear the opening of my inbox anymore. My calendar now serves as a record of the day's events (which is so much more useful than I originally thought it would be). And using Pocket to store my weblinks has changed how I use bookmarks. I mean, I had soooo many folders and sub-folders and even sub-sub-folders of bookmarks that they were actually useless to me. But switching to this "searching paradigm" with Pocket really is so much better and efficient. I can just file away a bookmark and forget about it till I search for it! (Although I will admit, I fought this change at first until I spent an hour or so messing with it and realized "oh wow! this is so much better than the old way of doing things!"). I still need to decide on a cloud-storage solution for my documents and decide what to-do app works best for me, but so far so good. Thanks Johnathan and Maya!

Several sections of the course helped me to clean up my digital life, but where it fell short for me was with email. I really wanted to find a solution for process my email, but the course focused on gmail accounts and the bulk of my email is my Outlook 365 account for work so the lessons didn't apply. I wish there had been information in the course description to inform that most of the lessons on email would apply to Gmail users only.

Section 2 started getting my interest and curiosity about what this course will do for me. Section 3 sounds good and I may implement it in the future but I will stick with filtering in Thunderbird until "Taming" is needed. I may try the Beginners Inbox when I have time. Meanwhile I am unsubscribing and consolidating into fewer email services. I am already using Google Calendar as described.

Digital clutter is something that follows me around every day, in my personal and work life. My goal starting this course was to finally clean up my email inbox. I had thousands of emails just sitting in my inbox, most of which weren't important. Yet, I really didn't know how to manage it. After taking this course I finally cleared out my email inbox! I now archive all read documents and use Maya's amazing technique for tagging emails requiring further action. There is much more structure and my inbox looks empty and beautiful! This course also motivated and enabled me to merge all of my email accounts, test out different calendar apps to see which one I like best, and set up a daily to-do-list. The other major achievement for me in taking this course was that I finally cleaned and emptied my downloads folder on my mac. I started off with over a thousand files and now I have 0. Now, my downloads are set to be saved directly on my desktop and it's much more manageable. I learned so many great tips from this course! As someone with an older model computer, making sure that all of my documents are backed up really gives me peace of mind. Thank you so much Maya and Jonathan!
