Enjoyable course and learning a lot about varying interior styles. Finding the course laid out well. Key concepts are helpful. Easy to navigate and review. Enjoy the examples at the end where you can see design styles in real spaces as well as design boards with ideas for a particular style. Enjoy the narrator and she moves at a good pace.

Overall decent course. I particularly appreciated the mention, even if ever so lightly grazing the significant impact and influence that Afrcian design and style has had on 'traditional' and 'modern' interior design. I am a novice in design, but I've travelled extensively throghout Africa and have a pretty good grasp of World History. While I understand the instructor's having stated that there is no clear distinct, African style, I think that the statement is a gross understaatement. For instance, the geometric patterns associated with Art Deco (in the photos presented) ... is distinctly West African, as are many, many of the shapes and forms associated Art Deco today. The entrie Victorian era was heavily influeneced by Africans, the African diaspora of North America, East Indian, Chinese and Indonesian cultures and styles. Itialian style is heavily influenced by Greek Style, which is heavily borrowed from North and East African design and style-pre Islamic and Arabian influence. Eastern and Southern African design style has had a PROFOUND influence on what has been called Bohemian, American Western, and Californian in the United States. Melanie, I support the strides and efforts African designers make to keep Africa's contributions from being boiled down to "Morroccan".

This course was excellent. It provided great information about popular styles. I loved how everything was written out, it made it easy to follow along and to create notes. The examples were clear and easy to follow. I would recommend this course!

Fantastic resume of the main architectural and interior styles...but I think you'd have to have a basic understanding of art history to easily absorve most of the content. Great for those who are somewhat familiar with the subject.
