New Home Construction - 1 of 8 (Udemy.com)

As an interior designer from Turkey, I'm curious about the codes in America and contractor issues around the world. It's unfortunate to see these problems in other countries, but I never compare them with my own because the situation here is dire; anyone with money can become a contractor.

This man is a legend. His personal experience gives you an alternate insight on how construction was done back in the day and why things make sense then and not now or vice versa. Highly entertaining and very beneficial knowledge. I was so impressed by this man i got all 8 lessons!

Mr. Sharp definitely has a wealth of knowledge and speaks from experience. I personally have learned a lot. From a scale of 1-10, 1 being I have NO knowledge of New Home Construction and 10 being Bill Sharp. I started this Lecture, 1 of 8, at a 1 and at the end of the Lecture I would safely say I am at about a High 2 or Low 3. I have Lots more to learn form his other lecture but have no doubt I believe Mr. Sharp will get me to a minimum of 8 on a scale of 1-10.

The first lesson didn’t have images of what we was describing. Pretty much trying to understand and imagine from his hand gestures. The second lesson is describing of different houses. I thought it would have talked more of actual construction of the home structures already. But it’s a $12 class on Udemy…

Clear, and very formal instruction given by the instructor. All very helpful information. I personally appreciate the fact that the instructor has a very lengthy background and also provides great details regardless if it applies to modern day code or not. He understands that knowing the history of why things are in place is a vital detail. Something of which that is not found very often any more. Very Respectfully, Aimuel Fairchild

I enjoyed the lesson although some of the content is not applicable to the building and construction invironment of South-Africa.

I like learning from someone like this. You can tell he's been in the business for a long time and has seen the changes. I am younger, 35, but I have been in construction since I was 18 years old. Many of the things he pointed out are exactly the issues I have seen when it comes to code violations and cheap shortcuts. I am taking this course as a refresher as I am now a project manager for a reconstruction company and I was happy to have taken this. I look forward to the rest.

Great introduction chapter for what is to come. We go through the most important aspects of the code, went though different styles of homes, special aspects to be are of, such as seismic category and temperatures of the area. Bill even showed a pretty fun video on fast speed of how a home is built. Perfect to wet the appetite. Great stuff here. 100% recommended.

Doesn't seem like it is the right for for what I am looking for.
