The instructor is clear and interesting. He stays on topic. I’m learning things I didn’t know.

The types of joints we can make, viz. butt and mortice and lock joints, their strengths and weaknesses, tools suitable for each task, i.e. jigs for pocket screws and the corner jig to hold flat pieces of wood together before working on them.

Filling in knowledge gaps I didn't know I had. No filler material, not over explaining concepts. Down to earth instructor with a lot of knowledge and teaches valuable info for woodworking, even for those who aren't beginners.

The tools shown are really old. The format is very lengthy and verbal. More practical demonstrations, and visual examples should be packed in the same length of the session.

very informative. It's a great video for a beginner that knows very little. It got me excited about learning more.
By Elizabeth Davis on 3/9/2026
The instructor is very thorough, very easy to listen to, and obviously very knowledgeable. I learned a lot in this first introductory class.

This course is great. I've always loved the idea of woodworking as a hobby, but never had the space or time to learn properly. I still don't have the space, but I have some time, and now with courses online, I can learn more.

I have been a woodworking since I watched my father build his house in 1955. I have done many projects including refurbishing two homes and building a small sailboat. I continue to build frames for all of my wifes's stained glass projects. My shop is a small part of my garage and I have a smal 12' x 12' shed. This instructor is my kind of instructor. I listen to him as if he were my friend, not an instructor. You can learn a lot from a friend. I look forward to my next meeting (lesson).

Thorough and clear—I've made a couple of little items, bought only what I needed, and… I will always apply the 30-50% extra wood rule in the future!
By Lehlohonolo Walter Ntholeng on 10/28/2025
Still early in the process to tell, but so far so good. I love how detailed he is, a bit confusing when he talks about the different types of wood, i.e. +/-73,000 different kinds of trees and 3 different categories, its good knowledge, I am very hopeful it will come in handy for my workshop :)
