Ahmed is the founder of Urbanspace Aquaponics which designed, built and operated a commercial aquaponics facility located in Vancouver, BC. with over 2,500 sqft of growing space producing over 3000 vegetables a week.

Ahmed, holds a Master's degree in environmental engineering and has a background in private and government consulting. As an environmental consultant Ahmed tackled critical environmental issues facing governments and the private sector related to water management. Inspired by the potential of aquaponics to become the future of sustainable agriculture Ahmed decided to forgo his engineering career and became a full-time farmer. After successfully selling the aquaponics farm Ahmed now teaches, designs and build aquaponic farms for his clients in North America, Africa and India.

Ahmed believes aquaponics and similar technologies will drive the evolution of food production in the 21st century. With food scarcity becoming a pressing global issue and land becoming a dwindling resource, aquaponics offers a solution that could change the way we think about food production.

The course material seems to have been copied from a text book, and then read out blandly and hurriedly. Acronyms are not expanded and explained. Each slide is filled with printed words but no visual indication to the paragraph in focus.

Personally it's easy to understand because I want to start aquaponics and I don't have any basics. Now, I can design my own system with your example as the base. Wish me luck, and thank you for the knowledge.

I highly recommend this course. Very informative. I have tried different short courses on aquaponics, and this is the only one I really understood the details of aquaponics. The course may seem too technical at first, but it really is. I guess there is no other way to present it, but with facts.

General information which is ok just to very start. Case Study is not clear, last two slides don't match. i.e. fist slide shows Feed Rate =3.28 lbs/day and slide 2 shows 2.0 lbs/day, then all the other parameters don't match

Definitely a very informative course for a great price. I was just trying to educate myself more and 2 hours of this course made me feel very confident in my ability to talk about aquaponics.

The course has given me an overall awareness of the subject matter of aquaponics. Would have been better if the course included more information on actual working models of aquaponics systems in the form of actual system videos, so that it would give a more practical first hand view.

It was good information for a beginner .. Atleast it made us aware that this systems also has its pros and cons.. So have to be very careful before venturing into...it.. Can the course be more of graphic / video interactive explanation or some at the actual site explanation to understand it more clearer .

Very good so far. Like that this course doesn't have a lot of fluff, just gets right to it. I especially like that each section does not have repetitive opening sequences which get annoying super fast.
