Affinity Designer for Beginners | Updated for Version 2 (Udemy.com)

This is one of the best courses I’ve taken on Udemy. Ally is a great teacher, everything is structured and easy to follow. Clearly a lot of thoughts went into the organization of the course, because it really builds on itself as you go. The way you know it’s successful is that each lesson feels easy but when you look at the last project that seemed completely impossible at the start, it was actually pretty easy to do. Can’t wait to start her next course on Designer.

The monster project was fun, cute design, nothing over the top, and was using everything that was taught and or explained form the earlier lessons.. It has been a while since I used any kind of computer graphic editing software like Illustrator, so learning Affinity Designer is not only motivating me to get back into graphic design and illustrating, but getting me back into the grove by me setting aside time to go through and complete the lessons that the instructors have created..

I enjoyed the course for its simplicity while teaching the fundamentals of how the program works. I feel much more confident using it for my own work and have started to do so.

Der Kurs war echt gut um sich mit Affinity Designer vertraut zu machen und vor allem für Anfänger wirklich gut geeignet. Ich bin zwar als gelernte Designerin kein Anfänger, aber hatte vor Affinity Designer etwas Scheu da ich Jahre zuvor mit AI gearbeitet habe. Alles in allem freue ich mich schon drauf weitere Kurse von ihr zu machen! Ich finde sie hat eine tolle Art an sich und die Übungen umzusetzen macht wirklich Spaß :)

I have had the Affinity products for a while now but lack any ability to use them effectively. I have always been overwhelmed with the number of options and tools available to me. This course has shown that you can achieve good results without having to use every tool. The course was very clear and illustrated the thinking behind each design decision. I'm still not a 'designer' but I now believe I can achieve what I need to. That gives me a foundation to grow from.

Firstly I would like to thank the teacher . She was great and funny . The things I like about this course are quite obvious. this course is easy to begin with. It is completely understandable and contains interesting projects that are fun to complete. Along this course I really understood the basic of affinity designer application and completed several my own projects using methods and knowledge from the course.

OLD Post: So far, these are things I've figured out myself, to some degree. I've had experience using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop years ago. A few things she shows have proven to be extremely useful in the first few class videos. I love her fun teaching style. She helps me understand the tools and how to use them better. I've gotten so many great ideas from this course so far. Using the shapes tools alone is a real eye-opener.

This was definitely a succinct, very well-organized set of tutorials, introducing all of the critical functions of Affinity Designer. Many tips and shortcuts were covered, and the instructor did a great job of revisiting all of the many concepts throughout the course, making sure to cement the usage of common tools. The projects all helped immensely to practice and experiment with Affinity's capabilities.

Firstly I have zero artistic background, I am an Engineer and wanted to dabble in graphic design. I purchased the software and tried YouTube to learn. Saw a few of the instructors YouTube videos and I think a link to her course. Overall it was a great course, I am using an IPad so it took a little research, but was well worth it. I was able to complete all the projects without any issues. From someone with zero artistic background, my final work looked exactly like the instructors. I attribute this to the instructors easy to follow format. I had to stop and rewind a lot only because I wasn’t as fluid with the program. I would highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to learn Affinity Designer 2.

J'ai déjà suivi des cours d'Affinity Revolution et ils sont tout simplement parfaits ! Celui-ci ne déroge pas à la règle. On commence avec de la théorie (même si l’on est invité à expérimenter en même temps, bien sûr) et chaque section se termine par un projet concret, pour pratiquer tout ce que l'on vient d'apprendre. Les explications sont claires et l'instructrice parle distinctement, ce qui est un gros plus. Bref, je ne peux que recommander ce cours qui est, selon moi, un exemple que d'autres formateurs devraient suivre. Merci pour ces nouvelles connaissances.
