There are some subtle differences between the illustrations of assets in the course and how version 2.6.3 actually works. This caused a great deal of confusion and led to a badly garbled set of assets on my machine. I had to delete the app and reload it. It would be very handy if there were discussion about how to clean up a messed up set of assets.

I'm working through this course fairly quickly and in one go before starting to use the software for work - at any time I can return to any topic I'm not sure about for a refresh. I am finding the course very easy to follow. Each section a natural progression. I am an experienced tech writer who needed to learn Affinity Publisher quickly and the course is certainly enabling me to do that.

I've been using Affinity Publisher for several years and had learnt the basics along the way, but there was a lot that I wasn't sure I could even do in Publisher. Thanks to this course, I now know so much more and feel more confident and proficient. The content on data merge was especially useful ... I had no idea of how to go about doing this in Publisher, but now I know I can! All of the content was so clearly presented and by doing the exercises along with the videos, I feel I have moved to the next level in my understanding of Publisher. I had one problem with the Tabel of Contents. video 23 TOCs with Text Styles when I added the table of contents it did not add the page numbers. After going back to the beginning and starting over several times, I found out I had to turn on include page numbers check box inside the style. Open hamburger menu.

I did the Beginner's course with Affinity Revolution and was so impressed with it, I decided to do the next course, this one, and it's brilliant. The presentation is really professional and I enjoy doing the exercises. I'm learning so much. Thank you Affinity Revolution.

This is the second course I've taken from Affinity Revolution (Ally Anderson), and I will immeditely be taking her courses for Affinity Photo and Designer. Ally is an excellent instructor, explaining things simply and step-by-step, including why some things don't work, and how to do them correctly. She doesn't waste words, which moves the course along very quickly. I hope she continues to update both her "for Beginners" and "Beyond the Basics" courses to cover everything that Affinity Publisher can do, and add modules on printing, working with printers, etc. As more people move from subscription based Adobe to one-time purchase Affinity, more people will find and take Ally's courses. They will not be wasting their time.
