Terms & Conditions
The rules for using CourseDuck. They are short because the site is simple: read reviews, write reviews, follow links to courses.
1. Who we are and what you are agreeing to
CourseDuck (www.courseduck.com) is an online-course directory run from California, United States. Our contact details are on the contact page. By using the site you agree to these terms, to our Privacy Policy, and, if you post anything, to our Code of Conduct. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Using the site
CourseDuck is free to use. You may browse, search and read everything without an account. You must be at least 16 to create an account or post a review. Do not use the site to do anything unlawful, to harm it or other users, or to get around a block we have put in place.
3. Your account
Keep your details accurate and your password private; what happens under your account is your responsibility. One person, one account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Code of Conduct, and you may ask us to delete yours at any time by email.
4. Reviews and other things you post
You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it you give CourseDuck a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to publish, display, quote, translate and shorten it on the site and in our newsletter and social channels, with the name you signed it with. That license lasts as long as the content is on the site; ask us and we will take it down.
You promise that what you post is your own honest experience, that you have the right to post it, and that it follows the Code of Conduct. We may edit for length or clarity, hide or remove anything that breaks the rules, and we do not have to publish everything we receive. What we never do is remove a negative review because a course provider dislikes it.
5. Course information, prices and rankings
Course details, prices, discounts, durations and ratings come from the providers, from public sources and from our reviewers, and they change without notice. We work to keep them current but cannot guarantee that any of it is complete, accurate or still valid when you read it. Always check the provider's own page before you enrol or pay. Rankings reflect reviews, ratings and our staff's assessment; they are opinion, not a promise that a course suits you.
6. Affiliate links and other websites
Many course links are affiliate links: if you enrol through one, the provider pays us a commission at no cost to you. Commissions never change how a course ranks or what a review says. When you follow any link off CourseDuck you deal with that site under its own terms and privacy policy. We are not a party to your purchase; refunds, access, certificates and support are between you and the provider.
7. Coupons and deals
Coupons and discounts listed on the site are published by the providers and can expire or change at any time. If a code no longer works, the provider's current price applies. We are not responsible for offers we do not control.
8. Our content
The CourseDuck name, logo, design and the text, images and data we create are ours or used with permission. You may read and print pages for your own use, quote short passages with a link back, and link to any page on the site. Search engines and AI assistants are welcome to index it. Copying the reviews or course database wholesale to republish it elsewhere is not allowed without our written permission.
9. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on CourseDuck infringes your copyright, email mkuhlman12@gmail.com with the address of the page, a description of the work, your contact details and a statement that you are the owner or authorized to act for them. We remove infringing material promptly.
10. No warranty
CourseDuck is provided free of charge, as it is and as it is available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the site or its content, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose.
11. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, CourseDuck and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of money, data or opportunity, arising from your use of the site, from a course you chose because of it, or from anything posted by other users. If we are found liable despite this, our total liability to you is limited to one hundred US dollars. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for fraud.
12. Your responsibility to us
If someone brings a claim against us because of something you posted or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result.
13. Changes to the site and to these terms
We may change or withdraw any part of the site at any time. We may also update these terms; the date below tells you when we last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States. Any dispute will be heard by the state or federal courts located in California, and you agree to their jurisdiction. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
15. Contact
Questions about these terms: mkuhlman12@gmail.com, or the other routes on the contact page.
