Our take
Based on the ratings of 54,225 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in July 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
Vicki Hart's course is a compact introduction to the human side of organizational change. It runs 68 minutes across 30 lectures and seven sections, built around six best practices, with sections on a common framework and language, clarifying the vision, engaging the organization and sustaining the change. The audience is individual contributors, project managers and business leaders who need a common vocabulary. The bio cites 20 years of change work inside large organizations.
Reviewers call the material clear, easy to digest and relatable to their own workplaces, and one praises the tools provided. The split is lopsided toward praise: about 48 percent of ratings are five stars and 39 percent are four. The complaints cluster around the assessments. Some students find the AI role play exhausting, one says it cuts them off if they pause mid sentence, and another objects to peer feedback from people who haven't passed. One reviewer dislikes quiz questions phrased as which item is not part of something. Others say the role play forces them to explain ideas instead of just listening.
The cost is mostly time. At about an hour, with a certificate and a CPE note in the description, it works as a quick primer before a change project. The content was last updated in July 2025. Expect a framework and templates, not deep case work. Anyone bothered by AI exercises should read the low-star reviews first, since nearly all the frustration sits there. Everyone else gets a tidy, low-commitment starting point.
Pros
- Short at 68 minutes, so it fits into one afternoon
- Reviewers find the concepts clear and easy to follow, including the roles inside a change plan
- Tools and templates come with each step, which students call practical and useful
- Some learners say the role play makes them explain ideas instead of passively watching
Cons
- The AI role play draws the harshest reviews: cut-offs, exhausting tasks, an untested feel
- Quizzes are called exhausting, and many questions ask which item is not part of something
- Only about an hour long, so it stays at framework level and will not go deep
Great to see the clear content, and easy material to digest, exercises are very helpful and challenge real life experiences , all the tools provided are great !
Listed for all levels and nothing is required, though facilitation and communication skills help in real change work.

I don't think the AI role play is effective, nor the fact that you have people who have not passed this course providing feedback on others submissions. The submissions were also clearly mostly created using AI.

the course helps me to understand what is the change management, and how its different than project management, objectives perspective and human perspective.
By Viljar Soiland on 7/5/2026
The pace of the course is good, and the information and amount of detail presented is adequate for each module. As the material is very focused, this puts the onus on the learner to make sure they are paying attention all the time. A lot of the questions in the pop quizzes and the final assessments are negative, asking the learner to identify which item "is not part of". I find this to be a counter-productive tool to learning and would suggest replacing these questions with something else.

I like the AI role playing because it forces me to synthesize and explain the information instead of just listening and reading and thinking i know it.

This course was an excellent match for my learning goals. I wanted to strengthen my understanding of Change Management concepts and gain practical experience in handling real-world change scenarios. The role-play exercises were particularly valuable because they allowed me to practice stakeholder engagement, communication planning, resistance management, sustainability planning, and leadership alignment in realistic situations. I appreciated how the course focused not only on theory but also on applying Change Management principles through interactive conversations and decision-making exercises. The scenarios involving communication strategies, cultural change, stakeholder management, and sustaining organizational change helped me develop confidence in approaching complex transformation initiatives. As someone with experience in IT operations and process management, I found the course highly relevant and practical. It provided useful frameworks that I can apply in future Change Management, ITSM, and organizational transformation projects. Overall, I would recommend this course to professionals looking to build both foundational knowledge and practical Change Management skills

I believe this training was well thought out and conveyed the necessary information. My only issue was it kept freezing and took longer than it should have.

It was a good fit. I frequently engage with teams that are responsible for onboarding new clients. This includes my involvement as the project gets closer to handoff for ongoing support.

In my organisation, we recently transitioned from manual and spreadsheet-based working papers to a fully automated Audit Management System. While the system significantly improved efficiency, documentation tracking, and review processes, the main challenge was human resistance - especially among some senior auditors who were less comfortable with technology. I have taken this short course in Change Management to better understand how to support this transition. The course is helping me appreciate that change is not just about systems, but about people. I learned that the expectation of customers and vendors drives change. I have also leant the importance of stakeholder engagement, communication, and phased implementation. From my personal experience, I applied the following: 1. Empathy and active listening – I engaged senior colleagues to understand their concerns, which were mainly fear of making errors and losing competence. 2. Practical support – Instead of overwhelming them with technical jargon, I organized small peer-learning sessions and demonstrated how the system actually reduced workload. 3. Quick wins – I encouraged them to start with simple modules, such as uploading working papers, before progressing to complex workflow approvals. 4. Positive reinforcement – I acknowledged progress publicly during team meetings to build confidence. The key lesson for me was that successful change management requires patience, communication, and leadership by example. Technology adoption is less about age and more about confidence and support.
