Course Description

VERSION 2.0: NEW & IMPROVED COURSE BASED ON STUDENT FEEDBACK

Are you curious about how the most successful sales people generate Cloud Computing Sales? The course is designed for people who want to transform their lives by effectively selling high-value Cloud Computing solutions to enterprise clients. You will learn detailed ways qualify prospects based on asking the right questions about what they already have and what they want to do. You will also learn what to include in a proposal from both a business and technical perspective.

Generate More Transactions by Solving Business Problems
• You will be able to have intelligent and informed conversations with engineers and executives as you solve their business problems with cloud-based technology solutions
• There are 15 quizzes, one after each lecture to remind you of the most important takeaways
• 16 assignments have been created to allow a student to focus on a SaaS vendor and its competitors
• The assignments also allow students to learn about CRM applications, video conferencing software, and more
• The average lecture is 11 minutes and the course takes three hours

Preview the course and watch the Introduction to see the assignments. Homework is for sales people, not engineers, programmers, or data scientists. The assignments revolve around the things cloud computing account executives need to know how to do, such as working with a customer relationship management (CRM) platform, qualification, lead scoring, researching, understanding client business models, and following the competition. Register for the course after watching the Introduction. There are no surprise assignments. You can see them all in the Introduction.

Cloud Computing is a Fast-growing Market

• There is a increasing need for sales people, marketers, solutions architects, business analysts, and engineers who can use the right terminology and understand the concepts that enable the cloud to work
• You will learn about Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Microservice Architecture (MSA), Information Governance, Big Data analytics and much more
• There are several downloadable files you can use immediately – including a CSV file with contacts at dozens of cloud computing firms that can hire you!
• Learn about famous vendors such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, Hubspot, as well as many others with an downloadable poster with 27 categories of service models and vendors in each
• Downloadable content also includes a research report for SaaS sales people and open source software business models
• Open source has impacted the world of the cloud – as evidenced by the recent acquisition of Red Hat by IBM

Course Structure Makes It Easier to Apply What You Learn
There are nearly 200 companies discussed along with real-world case studies. Diagrams are presented in several steps, explained in language anyone can understand. Budgets, CIO technology roadmaps, and implementation processes are described to help you sell profitable solutions. At the end of the course, you will be able to generate case studies that show the value you and your team were able to generate.

Watch the INTRODUCTORY LECTURE (at no cost) to learn about "customer churn," compensation and incentive structures for account executives, and questions you can ask of a sales manager in the hiring process or review period. Know when a SaaS business model is working, what it needs to do to make changes, and when churn might doom a SaaS company that hires you. Churn impacts your compensation, so it is the most important thing you can learn to impact as a sales pro in the SaaS ecosystem.

If you want to generate transactions by solving business problems with cloud technology solutions, this course will provide unique insights on how to do that. You don't need a computer science degree to take the course, but you have to be driven to sell.

The entire course is informative and may be a good material for those who just entered IT industry. Though a little bit too much information going on at the same time (i.e. a big chunk of words showing on screen whilst speaker talking quickly makes audience a bit hard to comprehend.) Paying enough attention, it is still a good course.

By Angelo Gisoldo on 1/6/2022

The course provides a complete introduction to the details of cloud structure you need for cloud sales. Steve continuously gives efficient advises about how to qualify customers and operations in order to enhance the sales process. The final part gets pretty technical, so you need some more basic knowledge. Anyway, 2/3 of the course is helpful even if you are approaching the subject of cloud sales for the first time. The lecture content and the assignments are very useful.

first of all the different level and quality of the voice is very annoying. Section 1 is perfect. Section 2 is too tech for a selling course. rather the go in deep of tech aspect (the engineers can dot it better than a sales person) it's better to talk It is better to talk how to eliminate customer doubts about using the cloud.

I had an amazing experience. Honestly, I had no prior background knowledge about cloud technology, but the course work has provided excellent insights and confidence for me to get started for career function change (currently I am into enterprise software sales, willing to migrate to cloud provisioning sales) Must say that this coursework is a must & should for all sales/account managers like me who are willing to keep abreast with latest tech trends like cloud computing from a business stand point.

A great overview of the sales approach and technical aspects of cloud sales, good delivery. Some topics were without 100% clear explanations or could have used better diagrams, but that's a side effect of fitting in a ton of information in a 3 hour course.

By Revanth Vema on 1/2/2018

Very practical course. Steve could articulate the concepts related to cloud computing in very simple terms and explain how it can add value from business standpoint. This course gives the fundamental understanding of cloud computing to sales professionals and it will also help them have meaningful conversations with clients and their internal stakeholders.

By Shah Imrul on 11/18/2017

It's very good to start with cloud sales as a foundation. The course is very good overall. Instructor is very experienced too. I would like to see some more example from real world and some more detailed study on bit more complex business case that a sales manager can present to his clients. Good job. Thank you.

By Sanjeev Sarma on 8/11/2017

Good overview of the terminology, technical aspects, commercial considerations and vendors related to Cloud computing. The narration is engaging and the background music does not interfere but adds to the experience. Some of the quiz questions are tricky while some questions have very obvious choices. Overall a good course to get acquainted with Cloud computing.

By Scott Norton on 5/29/2016

I am building my knowledge from a career deep in the technical aspects to more in the business, strategy, and beyond. The course concepts are exactly what I need to help bridge this transition. Mr. Turner is clearly presenting the course concepts, building the foundation for clear understanding of the following lectures and sections.

By Leonardo Bravo on 5/28/2016

The course content is very current and very useful, I have several years selling technology and this course has very good advice related to different aspects and stages of consultative selling. In the lectures there is valuable information not only theory but sales tips on how to deal with day to improve the pipeline, as sincerar the pipeline and better yet how to get new prospects. I really recommend it.
