Since I know the importance of good mental health and that affects starts from early age, with children of my own, and being surrounded by other children dear to me, I wanted to gain insight in to what to look out for, and handle any concerns or issues that may arise while looking after children. I felt that Sarah outlined concerns and best practises to reduce mental issues, and promote mental well being in a healthy and constructive manner. I've seen many of the practises work even with adults and myself, as well as with children already. However the techniques were not specifically trained or structured efficiently. Now I know better what worked, and why, and what else I can do, going forwards.

Indeed it was as I have a Bachelors in Health Science and Social Services majoring in Counselling Psychology. It covered a few of my modules like Child Psychology, Trauma,Child and Adolescent development plus Inclusive education to mention a few. I intend to add more certificates with Udemy that are in line with my course with the aim of advancing. Hope to get my Certificate soon.

I really enjoyed this course, it put a lot of my other training into perspective. I gained so much more information to better meet the needs of the children I support in the community and in school.

So far I feel it is a great match for me and what I am looking to learn. I feel the activities could be more indepth, with more information in the scenarios to help reach a conclusion. The scenarios relating to Immie and Molly, had me asking more question about the child to try and gain an understanding of what was happening with them.

By Elaheh Bos on 1/5/2020

It was interesting. I think the questions could have been worded better and should have been repeated in the slide 17 so it would have been easier to understand without looking back to find the questions.

The course was very informative and well presented. Its good to hear a qualified professional’s insight into the adolescent mental health epidemic. If you’re looking for a course with practical examples of mental health, this is for you. Would highly recommend this course for those interested in Social care, mental health studies, and parents concerned about the well being of their children. I received my accreditation certificate very quickly. I believe it took 3 days, and the communication between me and the course provider was perfect. She always emailed back within a reasonable time frame, and answered all questions I had. Very happy with my new accreditation :)

I really enjoyed this course. I thought it was fantastic. Sarah Kasule seemed to have great knowledge of the topic children's mental health and presented very clearly and professionally. The course material was splendid and covered all aspects of children's mental health. I really enjoyed the interactive aspect as well as the examples and scenarios presented in this course as they were thought provoking and very realistic. A lot of valuable information was gained from this course. I now feel confident in terms recognizing symptoms of mental health in children and can now put my newly learned skills into action whenever a situation does occur. I would strongly recommend this course to any other teachers, parents, social workers or other professionals seeking to improve their knowledge of children's mental health.
