The Digital Holistic Therapist

I am Deborah Casey, an educator, researcher, qualified Mental Health Nurse and holistic therapist with a longstanding background in holistic therapies, health and social care, mental health and adult education.

My educational journey began in holistic and complementary therapies, where I gained VTCT qualifications before undertaking further therapy training and developing practical experience across community and private practice settings.

I later progressed into higher education, gaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Mental Health Nursing and qualified as a Mental Health Nurse. My professional experience has included supporting people with a range of mental health, emotional and social care needs.

My development as an educator continued through adult education, including gaining my PTLLS teaching qualification. Over time, teaching, independent research, writing and course development became an increasingly important part of my professional work.

Today, my work focuses predominantly on education, research and the development of online learning across holistic well-being, mental health, health and social care, domestic abuse and violence, and sexual violence, rape and exploitation.

Where indicated, and upon successful completion, my courses provide the opportunity to gain a recognised, professional qualification, accepted by my insuring and membership partners.

I believe education should be accessible, thoughtful and grounded in responsible learning. My courses bring together professional knowledge, continuing research and experience to encourage deeper understanding, critical reflection and informed practice.

Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my educational work with learners around the world through Udemy.
