Facilitation: Become a Master Facilitator and Team Leader (Udemy.com)

48 Powerful Strategies, Techniques And Tools You Need To Be A World Class Facilitator and a Great Team Leader.

Created by: Jason Teteak

Last updated December 2024

Our take

Based on the ratings of 3,953 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in December 2024. No course pays to be reviewed.

Jason Teteak's Facilitate is a short workshop: about 2.1 hours across 11 lectures and four sections, filmed with a live class in the room. Teteak runs Rule the Room and trains trainers. The syllabus is built around credibility, nervous habits, body language, tone of voice, audience engagement and closing a session. It suits people who stand in front of groups, whether trainers, managers or sales staff. It leans toward presenting more than running a workshop. A workbook goes with it, and the requirements ask you to pause the video and do the exercises.

Reviewers like how practical it feels. Several say it comes across like real classroom training, and one noticed that Teteak models the behaviors he teaches while he teaches them. Another says they applied his advice and it works. Of 3,953 reviews, 2,090 are five stars and 1,430 are four. The complaints are smaller: some repetition, and practice work staged for the classroom that home viewers can't join. One reviewer found it more about presentation than facilitation. Another says the book shown on screen wasn't available to them, and one had video errors.

It is short and paid, so the risk is low. The last update was December 2024, and advice on voice, nerves and presence doesn't date quickly. We'd recommend it if delivery and confidence are your weak spots. If you need methods for designing and running a workshop, look elsewhere. One reviewer called it inspiring but culturally strange in Germany, so the style may not travel equally well.

Best forTrainers, managers and sales staff who lead groups and want to sound credible, calm and engaging.
Skip it ifYou want meeting-design tools like agendas and group exercises, not presenting technique.

Pros

  • Recorded in front of a live class, so it feels like real training
  • Covers nerves, credibility, voice, body language and closing in about two hours
  • Reviewers say the advice is practical and easy to apply right away
  • Names 16 common signs of nervousness and how to avoid each one

Cons

  • Leans toward presenting skills more than group facilitation methods
  • Exercises are staged for the classroom, so home viewers can't take part
  • Some repetition, and one reviewer says the on-screen book wasn't available
Jason has a very practical approach. I’ve consumed his content and applied it and it works.
Jeremy Luedtke, a student

Listed for all levels, with no prerequisites beyond the workbook, but it pays off mainly if you regularly lead, train or present to groups.

Steve - Business Manager

"I found this to be really worth my time, it gave me actual take-aways, things I can do today and tomorrow in my teaching and in my group facilitation that will actually make a difference and make my presentations more compelling and make me more confident as a presenter."

Karen - Language Arts Professor

“I have been to several seminars on public speaking and giving presentations, including Dale Carnegie training. I truly went into this thinking that I couldn’t possibly learn anything new, but I found myself scribbling notes like a mad woman during the presentation. I quickly realized that these were tips and techniques that I had never heard before, and that I could use immediately upon my return to the office.”

I like that the facilitator tells stories , I like that there is practice work but it is done from a classroom setting and I wish I could participate; I wish it was more interactive.

By Pamela Jackson on 8/11/2026

Great match for me personally and professionally. I appreciate that the instructor is displaying real time the behaviors he is teaching. Even before he shared taking notes should be a commitment, I was already taking notes because the course is engaging from the beginning.

My experience is: It helps me to find the most productive course of action and give me a clear structure to follow. It also offered me a chance for personal reflection and growth and reignite my passion for my career, help me to set new goals and motivation to pursue new challenges. I believe in generating an comprehensive and supportive environment where participants feel comfortable expressing their ideas and challenging their own perspectives. it has been highly effective in fostering open dialogue and promoting a culture of continuous learning. i

Really good course. Explained the different techniques of engaging with an audience and how to set the correct tone (physical and vocal) to help keep your audience engaged. The course consisted of good concepts to apply when engaging with different audience. Definitely recommend.

By Huda Hasan on 1/4/2026

This by far is one of the most amazing presentations I've ever watched. He had me hooked from the start and then on the edge of my seat. It's so relatable and some points I knew from being a facilitator for over a decade myself, but this is incredible. Also because he makes it so simple and easy to follow and breaks everything down so well WITHOUT making it boring.
