This course is not for beginers. I am a Mechanical Engineer with knowledge of renewable energy, but this course is not suitable for someone who doesn't know about financing. The corse doesn't focus on step by step guidance. They are just explaning pre-completed project in excel.

Brilliant, focused training for modelling solar/wind. Very dense of content, theoretically could be expanded into a 8 hour course. You need to be well versed in finances and excel to really gain from this course.

It was very informatative, interesting and at the same time gives you a base from where one can develop its own required model. Thanxs. Amish Jain

Very good course to know and appreciate the importance of finance in success of such niche projects in renewables. The course covers most relevant aspects in finance in a short time. A little more on sensitivity analysis would further enhance the 'take away'. This tool along with some domain knowledge and additional basics in finance will be an excellent combination of skills and tools.

An excellent course, but I would like to get more information about materials for building a model in a real case, for example a term sheet, and also find out where many values come from in practice (for example, wind data for the efficiency of installations (seasonal factor) and where to get spot rates?

You need to spend at least an hour explaining all the details in each tab, not just 10 minutes. It is necessary to explain in more detail how the key calculations/formula works and why you calculate this way, instead of just giving a cold formula without any explanation.

Really enjoying it so far - clear illustrations and lectures help but it would be great to know what keyboard shortcuts are being used in the videos as figures and structures are moved around the various sheets. It's tough but it's very good...

This course is a gem. I would highly recommend this course to anyone working/interested in the renewable energy sector (analyst roles). It is an excellent course to go into the details of solar/wind projects from a financial model point of view. Some of the highlights: 1. Rod gives you really advanced and valuable key modeling inputs that you cannot find in other modeling courses such as different stakeholder scenarios and different debt sizing cases within the same model. You can truly see how he has squeezed years of experience in this course. 2. He is actively answering any question you might have regarding the course and renewable energy related topics. You can simply check that all questions have been answered in the Q&A section. Lastly, I would recommend you to do this course at the same time you do Rod's Project Finance course offered at Udemy too. You can start from scratch building your own advanced PF + buyout model with a really experienced lecturer!

Too much material that viewer cannot possibly assimilate in one course. Need to break it up into many videos each one concentrating on a specific issue. Also need to separate project finance from VBA programming. Project finance theory and practice as they pertain to renewable projects need to have their own course or two. Using the power of VBA to address circularities and perform modeling and simulation should be a separate course or more.
By Thierry Vanroy on 10/16/2019
Starts off simple and goes into a very decent level of sophistication. (Bodmer-level of sophistication, for those to whom that reference makes sense.) You can always slow down if things go over your head and look at the model, handily expanded upon with each lesson.
