Course Description
What is the aim of this course?
Consulting projects especially when it comes to the consumer goods business are very demanding. The two most complicated areas are sales and marketing and the supply chain. During consulting projects, I have seen business analysts and management consultants struggling to understand the business fast enough to deliver value to the customer. This course will give you the knowledge and insight into real-life case studies that will make your life during a consulting project in a consumer goods business much easier.
This course will help you drastically improve your knowledge and skills in analyzing and improving Fast Moving Consumer Goods businesses (FMCG). It is designed for people who want to become management consultants, and business analysts or have to run and optimize FMCG businesses on a daily basis. In the course you will learn 3 things:
How to model FMCG business in Excel
How to improve sales and marketing in order to increase margin and profit
How to improve the supply chain in order to increase margin and profit
This course is based on my 15 years of experience as a consultant in top consulting firms and as a Board Member responsible for strategy, performance improvement, and turn-arounds in the biggest firms from Retail, FMCG, SMG, B2B, and services sectors that I worked for. I have carried out or supervised over 90 different performance improvement projects in different industries that generated a total of 2 billion in additional EBITDA. On the basis of what you will find in this course, I have trained in person over 100 consultants, business analysts, and managers who now are Partners in PE and VC funds, Investment Directors and Business Analysts in PE and VC, Operational Directors, COO, CRO, CEO, Directors in Consulting Companies, Board Members, etc. On top of that my courses on Udemy were already taken by more than 300 000 students including people working in EY, Walmart, Booz Allen Hamilton, Adidas, Naspers, Alvarez & Marsal, PwC, Dell, Walgreens, Orange, and many others.
I teach through case studies, so you will have a lot of lectures showing examples of analyses, and tools that we use. To every lecture, you will find attached (in additional resources) the Excels as well as additional presentations, and materials shown in the lectures so as a part of this course you will also get a library of ready-made analyses that can, with certain modifications, be applied by you or your team in your work.
Why have I decided to create this course?

This course is a must-take for anyone working in or consulting for the FMCG sector. It offers a well-rounded understanding of the industry's dynamics, challenges, and strategic levers, tailored specifically for management consultants and business analysts.

If you are looking for a roll-up-your-sleaves technical work through on how to perform the back office quantitative analysis of FMCG, then this is the course for you. The case studies are well prepared and explain the individual underlying concepts well. I would have preferred working through one case study / dataset so we could see the full solution developing as we progressed through the course. Asen knows his stuff and has invested considerable effort in putting this course together.

Too much time spent teaching how to use excel rather than on relevant sector material. Would like the course to be more about what the tool needs to do rather than learning a tool itself.

Helps me understand the basic analysis tools for FMCG Business, However the analysis is for small enterprises and may not suite larger organizations. P.S: My comments are based on what i have gone through till course material 32.

I have been on Udemy for many years. I bought a lot of courses, but only left thoughtful reviews for those I really like. Like Asen's course(s). I think Asen has built up his own knowledge bank in this field over years. I recommend Asen's courses to you as I have tried the myself. I think one star for his after-purchase service. Not every one can do as much as he offered...

Good but some slides were boring and I prefer live examples instead of too many slides, may some homework or cases will be butter but generally is good

As Iam planning to move to take a role of Marketing consultant I believe this course will be very helpful in that. A very good and informative course so far on FMCG Business Models.
By Shreyas H on 12/25/2019
Good introduction, but can provide some more details in the theoretical notes on FMCG as a non-FMCG person, there were too many new unknown things for me in the cases.
