You are at a networking event, corporate outing, workshop, dog park, or the playground. You meet someone new ... and they say "What do you do"? You panic.
Networking is key to standing out in the 'now' economy ... and essential to finding our next promotion, project, or new job. Whether you are an extrovert or introvert, networking can seem like an scary world of cold calls and uncomfortable discussions. The reality is that networking is KEY because 80% of jobs are filled in the hidden job market.
Get clear and confident in any scenario where you are asked “What do you do?”.
And ... It’s not just what you say … it’s how you say it. What is your marketing pitch? The pitch isn’t a presentation. Its all about how you present yourself in daily work & life. How do you present yourself? Are you confident or nervous? Are you looking for approval or are you grounded and proud of your message? We get to decide how we present our market offering or our expertise to others. Some of us don’t want to be flashy and others are natural introverts. Others are extroverts who need a grounded message. Doesn’t matter. We can be authentic AND be clear what we offer in the market. We can be personable in daily conversation and be confident in our messaging. It’s your choice.
In this course, you will receive practical networking tips that you can use immediately that will help you take action in work & life with confidence and clarity.

A Few Testimonials:
"Your advice to look at what we've already done, and identify when and where and by what that spark of interest and energy ignited, and to build on that recognition instead of focusing forward into that fog--well, for me it's a whole new way of thinking." Wendy
"I participated in Kara's powerful e-course, “How to Discover, Invent, and Launch your Ideal Work & Life" ... and was thrilled with the content and online delivery. I am currently participating in the weekly "Get Hired" series and again, am impressed with the amount of helpful information that is provided in each session." Jo-Ann

Haven't finished the course yet -- taking it for a class CS 280 Career Planning. So far, it's similar to other career/resume workshops I've completed. So the content is industry standard, and the presenter is good, but I'm currently leaving off a star because I haven't seen anything novel yet.

The instructor utilizes documents you can download and keep and video instruction. It’s quite helpful to the way I learn.

I really enjoyed the course and gained a great deal of additional knowledge for finding jobs in this current job market. She provided a lot of tools for searching for work that were not needed 20 years ago so I was glad I took it. I am one that remembers printing out copies of my resume and going door to door asking if a company was hiring. It now seems the old process has bypassed the "you can only apply online through a job board" back to door to door but instead instead of knocking on doors, one has to find doors to open. It was very enlightening! I could tell she was passionate about her purpose and that means a great deal as a student.

I haven't finished the course yet, the beginning was slow and not engaging for me so I left the course for a later time. Once the practical part starts it is more interesting and I find useful information.

This course would have received a 5-star rating but a huge part of the course was missing at the ending. At Section 4- Lecture 19, the instructor was supposed to start the next slide with, "Bring Your Interview A Game." The slide that started instead was Lecture 20 which is the summary. So I was unable to capture the information outlined in that lecture. Please review and update your course to include that missing module. Besides that, the course was very informative but I felt disappointed due to not receiving that part of the course which in my opnion was extremely important.
