Instructor Bio
Jack Kornfield has taught meditation in universities and many other centers worldwide since 1974. One of the key teachers to introduce mindfulness practice to the West, he co-founded the renowned Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts (with Sharon Salzberg and Joseph Goldstein) as well as Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California. Jack holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and is a father, husband and activist.
After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1967 he worked on medical teams in the Mekong River valley, then spent years studying as a monk under the great Buddhist masters Ven. Ajahn Chah and Ven. Mahasi Sayadaw.
Jack's books have been translated into 20 languages and sold more than a million copies. His most recent book is No Time Like the Present: Finding Freedom, Love, and Joy Right Where You Are. His other popular classics include: A Path With Heart; Bringing Home the Dharma: Awakening Right Where You Are; After the Ecstasy, the Laundry; The Wise Heart: A Guide to the Universal Teachings of Buddhist Psychology; Teachings of the Buddha; Seeking the Heart of Wisdom; Living Dharma; A Still Forest Pool; Stories of the Spirit, Stories of the Heart; Buddhas Little Instruction Book; and The Art of Forgiveness, Lovingkindness and Peace.
