I thought the excel manipulation and Json manipulation covers to get test data from them.

It's ok if you only want a very brief introduction to what you can do with Python but there are probably better options. The course introduces a few basics of a lot of different topics. It is a bit sloppy and the instructor seems to want to get through it all as quickly as possible. The email section needs updating to explain how to deal with security. I recommend researching other course options.
