Course Description
According to the Ruby on Rails website, Rails is "a web application development framework written in the Ruby language. It is designed to make programming web applications easier by making assumptions about what every developer needs to get started. It allows you to write less code while accomplishing more than many other languages and frameworks."
If you feel like Rails may be the framework for you after reading that statement, but don't know where to start, you've come to the right place.
In this course, students will learn what Ruby on Rails is best for, quickly creating and finishing web apps easily. This course covers it all, from installation to deployment. We will teach you how to use various Ruby on Rails tools while building functional web applications. By the end of the course, you will know enough Ruby on Rails to create any CRUD application you like.
Not only this, but I also provide resources for almost every lecture, so that you can learn more if you wish. This course will provide you with enough Ruby on Rails knowledge to go from beginner to intermediate. After completing this course, you will also have enough Ruby Rails basis to learn any other Rails concept you can think of on your own. Think of this course like a quick jumpstart to your Ruby on Rails career.
This course will give you a headstart into building any CRUD (create, read, update, delete) site you like. Building CRUD applications quickly is something that Ruby on Rails is great at.
In this course, we will complete 4 CRUD Ruby on Rails web apps in the following order:
- A personal blog
- A user messaging app
- A To Do List (The Hello World of Ruby on Rails Applications)
- A Wikipedia Clone
But basic Ruby on Rails isn't the only thing we will focus on, we will also learn how to use other tools with our apps such as:
- Git
- Heroku
- Bootstrap
- Active Admin
- Static Pages
- MVC Architecture
If you want to bulk up your resume, get some practice or learn how to use various Rails gems in your app, look no further!
This is the perfect course for the casual web developer. This course will take you from basic HTML knowledge to building your own beautiful web applications.
This course will cover a lot of ground in a very short amount of time. Since the course is so fast, breezing through it might not help your retain everything. I recommend trying to finish the course in a month. It will help you retain knowledge, as well as give you time to explore different features on your own. Not only this, but udemy gives you a 30 day money back guarantee, so you have nothing to lose!

I am a self taught programmer and learning enthusiast. My expertise is mainly in Artificial Intelligence, Ruby on Rails web development, Python and Linux. I hope that my courses will help students learn things that I had difficulty with in an easier and more fun way. These courses are meant to be short, sweet and quick to the point.

All in all the tutorial was helpful. However, for improvements 1. Update the Ruby installation part because the website you use currently doesn't work 2. I needed to use other videos to see how to install Ruby, Rails, Heroku, Git Bash and Atom. I also noticed that my atom terminal doesnt work so I searched around and ended up using Platformio as Terminal Plus for some reason doesnt work for me I'm a quite experienced developer but for a first timer they would struggle to just get up and running

I'm starting to learn Ruby and everything around it would be neccesary to become an advanced user. I will come back to let my official review about this course.

A lot of concepts and code is introduced but one lacks actual explanation of what the code does.

The person has the pace that does not match a normal user. Additionally, the person explains as if the viewer already known RoR!

At first I thought this course needed more detail, but the repitition helps to provide understanding. I think it was a great starting point to get the gist of rails. Very glad to be introduced to fontawsome and the free bootstrap themes. Thank you Adam!

This is an excellent course for two reasons; a) you get a great overview of rails development workflow and ... b) you will get some ideas of your own for developing rails apps. It would be nice if there was more detail in the course but you can't complain as admission is free. Adam is both enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the course content and it was a pleasure to listen to his lectures. If your looking for a good(and very fast!) intro to rails development and the kind of workflow involved then I can happily recommend this course. Good job all round.

As a newbie, this makes for a great morning exercise! It's fast, clear, straight to the point and is about speed and getting something up and running very quickly! nice work

Getting a little better since the last review, but the instructor needs to explain the code as well to make it comprehensive.

Excellent foundation to Ruby on Rails. My only suggestion would be have a section on the syntax itself, otherwise good job

This tutorial is worth buy. The instructor walks you through basics and helps you making awesome web applications all by yourself. Not only he just talks about how to make the tutorials, but also shares with us basics things to take care while getting started, and all those resources and software he uses to make this thing work. Adam's videos are easy to understand and follow, and he had also shared the projects over Github, to quickly take reference when stuck or fork it and customise it completely. I recommend all those guys who want to learn web development in ruby on rails from basics and build amazing web applications.
