Learn to Trade The News (Udemy.com)

Now it is year 2024. The last recorded video was in 2021. No update since.

I found this to be an excellent course. I purchased it ages ago & never finished it until today. This is something I tend to do with every course I've bought on Udemy, much to my detriment. I just have to get the meat & go to another course to learn something different. Doing all this means you don't do anything & are constantly looking instead of trading & you never get to learn & use the system. I hope to reverse that trend with this course. More on the course; there are a few glitches..Tom says just to have the red news releases up on forex factory & to remove statements & China. Then on his trade examples he looks at Orange releases for statements & notes that China data affects Australia? Therefore it was logical for me to reinstall CNY & also the Orange reports to forex factory . Things like that confuse people. Also, be careful if you use MT4 to move the stop loss & take profit lines as Tom described because he made them more than 80pips because he was looking at the $ amount & not the pip amount, just an honest mistake. He has made so many trade example videos, I could not watch them all but a big effort has been made by Tom. I notice however that not many replies have been made in Q & A? Also hardly any mention of spread widening by brokers during news announcements. I still think it is a great course & am looking forward to trading these reports, on demo to begin.

This course helped me use fundamental analysis more precisely in my forex trading. Example videos was supportive to understand theori. But these can make more shorter as just going fast through the trade and explaining the reason behind to take the trade( To take away words like time to take a drink, nice weekend, or other personal stuff is just wastage of time). There are some examples of the same trade setup which Thomas reentered in the market to make some more pips, These examples can be taken out to make course more attractive. To cover these examples take me 4 full working days and by making them more concise and to the point will be helpful to finish them in 3 working days. I do recommend this course to any forex trader who want to use fundamentals in their trading and highly recommend to go through all examples. Examples will helpful to prepare you how market react in different situtions and on different data and market expectatios.

Wow! I thought for a long time that something was missing from my trading plan (I was using only technical analysis as the ultimate tool). So I was in search of incorporating some fundamentals aspects of the market but I couldn't find the right way. Thomas Franklin made it simple and very clear, as he definitely knows how to present difficult ideas in a simple and effective way. I give the course 4 stars only because I would like to include a combination of technical indicators with news impact (although I know that's clearly not the subject of the course).

I have been mainly learning and trading using technical analysis for years but with only some limited success and then found Tom online, I have been following Tom and watching his style of trading for some time before deciding to start the course. Once I started Watching I could not stop watching the next video and hardly put my phone down, the idea of trading the news has completely changed my trading Im yet to put all the learning to practice, but by taking this course alone it has opened my eyes to fundementals, and im very confident that it will pay off once I start using the knowledge ive gained so far. Im very very pleased with the lessons and I really would recommend it, fantastic value for money, plus the course never stops updating with new information, great course, thanks Tom.

I simply love this course, Tom is awesome. I found the videos very informative with clear directions what to focus on while trading Forex. I am coming from no knowledge background to Forex trading. With Tom's advice via this course and his dedicated mentoring service, i am proud to call myself a pro trader just less than a month of little hard work, i said "hard work" since i am coming from no knowledge background. Now i am already having some insight in understanding the terminologies, i am pretty sure it will be just bagging pips while closing reading Tom's daily digest emails and follow his recommendations. I am very happy i have enrolled in this course and now i also have Tom as my personnel analyst via his mentoring service. I will highly recommend this course for anyone who is starting Forex trading. This is an excellent course on trading the news. Tom’s enthusiasm and passion for news trading is clearly apparent and infectious. All the lessons are clear and to the point and Tom is able to communicate the finer points of trading the news very precisely. There are many trading examples to show and demonstrate how to enter and exit trades effectively and details of new trades taken by Tom are always being uploaded to the course. Also, there are free resources on the website for your ongoing education. If you are a beginner trader, then this course will set you on the right path for the rest of your trading career. If like me you’ve been trading for a while and mainly using technical analysis, then this course is a real eye opener and you will quickly get to grips with the principals of news trading. As Tom say’s, after you “tune-in” to what drives the forex markets and how this affects price action, it all starts to make perfect sense. You can still use technicals to fine tune entries and exits but now you’ll know exactly which side of the market you should be trading with, based on the real fundamentals of the market and putting the probabilities on your side. Personally, I have taken good, profitable trades that I would previously not have considered just trading technicals and now, absolutely, categorically, 100 percent, I will not trade any other way!

Hi Tom, I am almost finished with the course and I am delighted to say this has been one of the most refreshing, Insightful trading education I have received. When I started trading, (about 5 years ago) it was through a sales email for an EA, then later some one had me on an email list and sought me out ($$$) to encourage me in furthering my education in trading. They recommended websites I should Learn from (baby pips) to familiarize myself with terminologies, indicators, chart studies, etc... I later found out that one of the biggest tool the company introduced me to was news trading, but i wasn't mature enough as a trader to see the benefit of it and I'd use it now and again while mostly relying on my technical studies of which I am the master of (tongue in cheek)...unsuccessfully. I stopped trading for two years (because I blew my i account) and decided to actually find an educator that can help me get out of my own insecurities. I have been watching your YouTube (and others) channel for the last six months whilst practicing your methods on a demo account. I bought your course on Udemy last month and i have studied all of it. Up till then my understanding of news events were to look at forexfactory.com; if it's red SELL if it's green BUY. Now, not only do i understand to How but the Why. So far this year, coupled with technical analysis, fundamental analysis is a must have in your trading arsenal to be a successful trader and my live account is proof of that. Trading only 3% of my account Cad and Euro has given me the ability to double my account in 4 trading days: today (21/01/2016) was 60% of it. Thank you.

I come from a technical background after 4 years forex trading (largely unsuccessfully), this course has opened my eyes to what I've been missing all along! Tom explains complex fundamental news/data in a very easy to understand and digestible format, which has made me even more keen to follow the fundamental news more closely and I now want to learn how to pick up the more nuanced comments made by central bankers in their written statements and speeches, for future trading plans. Tom's course has completely re-invigorated my interest in forex trading after becoming disheartened losing money over the last 4 years trading purely on a technical basis. There is light at the end of the tunnel after all!

The trader resources shared by Tom is invaluable and currency watch list with live rational is a pinnacle. My favorite lecture is Risk Management Principles, it prescribes the do's and don'ts essential to succeed in this market. Above all the recent trade examples are priceless, it is equivalent to sitting in a live trading room with Tom and team taking lives trades. The ongoing support offered is very effective and gets you closely follow the market to identify high probability entries. The production quality of this course is nothing but phenomenal. Tom delivers this course in a very engaging and interesting manner. There were no if's and but's at any point, just bulls eye in every section of this course. I have gained massive confidence in facing Forex market after mastering this course and will soon be signing up for mentoring service offered by Tom. I am also eagerly waiting to enroll on technical analysis next year. I was very skeptical before taking up this course thinking what if this is one of those 'make a million in 60 days' type.
