Instructor Bio

Michel Buffa is a professor/researcher at University Cte d'Azur (France), staff member of the WIMMICS research group, a joint initiative of INRIA and the I3S Laboratories (CNRS). Recognized as Web pioneer, Michel has been teaching Web technologies since 1994. He's the acclaimed author of these 3 W3Cx MOOCs: "JavaScript Introduction", "HTML5 Coding Essentials and Best Practices" and "HTML5 Apps and Games". Michel contributes to the development of the WebAudio research field and actively works with the W3C WebAudio Working Group. He has given extensive tutorials on HTML5 and WebAudio at several international conferences (e.g. The Web Conference 2018). With other researchers and developers, he co-created the WebAudio Plugin standard (aka VSTs for the Web). He also developed many states of the art WebAudio applications for the ANR WASABI research project, in particular a virtual pedalboard application for guitarists and tube guitar amp simulators.
