Course Description

Congratulations! You're going to be a Great Cloud Architect!

Software & Cloud Architects have one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs in the industry.

Great salary, working with management, dealing with the up-to-date technologies and patterns, working with variety of projects and teams - all these make the Cloud Architect one of the most desired positions in the software industry.

Becoming a Cloud Architect is not easy. but becoming a Great Cloud Architect is even harder.

One of the best methods to become a great Cloud Architect is to always learn, and see what other architects did in their own work.

And this is exactly what this course is doing.

In this course we're going to discuss 5 case studies, based on a real-world, production based cloud systems, that I've worked on in recent years.

Each case study presents a unique challenge, with a lot of twists in the way, and together - we're going to design the architecture of each and every one of them.

The case studies are varied, and we'll discuss classic web app (but with a very interesting twist...), file automation system, AI systems and more.

For each case study, we're going to go through the whole architecture process, and do the following:

- Map the components

- Understand the requirements

- Define the application type

- Select the cloud services used

- Design the architecture

- Add redundancy

- Estimate the cost

We're going to cover quite a lot cloud services in this course, among them:

- App Services

- Function Apps

- CosmosDB

- Azure SQL

- Application Gateway

- Event Hubs

And lots more...

Important Note: This course builds on the foundations laid in Microsoft Azure: From Zero to Hero - The Complete Guide course, and assumes you already have a basic knowledge in Azure. It is highly recommended, though not mandatory, to to take this course before this one.

But wait, that's not all!

One of the most important product of the architect's work are the architecture diagrams. These diagrams are the epitome of the architecture process, and summarize and represent the various aspects of the architecture.

And so, for each case study, you'll have the complete architecture diagram, with all the services we discussed in the design process.

In addition, for each case study we'll analyze its estimated monthly cost, and explain how we got there.

And the good part?

You can download these diagrams and the cost estimations for your own use. These diagrams are a great starter for architecture diagrams, and there's a good chance your own system is quite similar to at least one of the case studies in this course. And even if not - you can still use it as a base for your own. Simply put - it's yours to use.

This course is the only course that gives you access to real-world, production based cloud architectures, based on systems designed by real architects, developed by real developers, and have millions of $ invested in them. Don't miss this opportunity!

What do my students have to say about my courses?

------------------------------------------------------------

"well done - The course was very practical" - Sam

"[The course] given me the confidence to go out to the market and advertise myself as such [an Architect]" - Mathew

"Life Changing" - Arivazhagan

And lots more...

------------------------------------------------------------

Who is this course for?

------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, any person who is involved in cloud development, even system analyst, can profit from this course.

However, the best candidate for this course is a Cloud Architect that wants to expand her knowledge, or a developer with some cloud experience, preferably 2 years. This experience will help mainly in understanding the terminology used in this course.

If you're not sure if this course is for you - drop me a note!

I am deep impressed by the content and the teaching. Allow expand. Then Instructor lays out the use case or the problem first. Then he packs it too functional and non-functional requirements. Then he identifies that building blocks satisfying these requirements. Then in maps those components to your services. Then he identifies the Messaging layer between the services. Then he speaks to the security and cost. Complete 360 development of architecture solution of the case study. His case studies are materially different. I really wish it comes up with a follow up course for additional case studies including Ai and generative AI. Thank you so much. Spoken text.

This is a great resource to learn on high level how is the architecture design process using Azure resources to achieve the best with lowest cost possible without affecting the system performance.

By Marcos Rafael Salinas Arraiz on 10/4/2023

I really loved this course. Memi explains very well and you can see that he has ton of experience using these technologies. This course allow us to understand in which cases we can use some Azure services and in which not. Highly recommended

Wish this course was available many years earlier. Case Studies is the best way to learn about real world ICT problems and solutions.

The first four sections cover very basics only and does not seem relevant for those who are already playing architect role. These four sections serve good starting point for developers but not for architects. Case study 1 has been covered very nicely and provides very good insights on overall architecture design and solutioning of the problem statement.

It is a great course and the author Memi Levi explained the cloud architecture with five detailed case studies to illustrate various practical scenarios. He justified the logic behind choosing various azure cloud components & services(cosmos DB, storage account, Azure Event Hub, etc). It is worth buying. Thank you!

Great class, will give you insight into the practicalities of designing actual systems, with 5 realistic examples. This is the kind of thing you don't learn in other courses, and usually only learn on the job. It will deepen your intuition and make you a better developer or architect!

Overview section gives a good idea of terms related to cloud architecture. For few technical terms, we need to explore further outside the course for better understanding. Real life Case studies give a better clarity right from requirement gathering to execution. Good course for Business stakeholders and Product Managers as they have to deal with cloud architecture stakeholders for various projects.

By Anonymized User on 3/18/2022

A good wrap-up about main architectural elements and clear presentation with a quick introduction to the cloud and specifically Azure. Nice to see real-world cases with detailed components implementation and cost analysis.

By Anonymized User on 12/26/2021

first half part regarding cloud basics is optional, case study really helps others to understand "how to come up with solution", for cost, we also need cover non-prod env, otherwise maybe confusing for others to choose services to set-up env
