Course Description
Welcome to Practical BPMN 2.0 for Real Enterprise Process Flows.
Many automation and AI initiatives struggle not because of the technology, but because the underlying process is poorly understood or inconsistently documented. BPMN provides a shared visual language for mapping process flows, decision points, hand-offs, and exceptions. This course shows how to use BPMN as that foundation — without unnecessary complexity.
This course is designed to help you clearly document, understand, and communicate how work actually flows through an organization using BPMN 2.0. The focus is practical and grounded in real enterprise use, rather than theory-heavy or academic modelling.
The course begins with the fundamentals of non-executable BPMN 2.0, introducing the notation in a clear and approachable way. From there, it builds progressively so that by the end of the course you will be confident creating complete, end-to-end process flows on your own. Throughout the course, the emphasis is on clarity, structure, and consistency — the things that make process models genuinely useful.
This course is suitable for:
People learning BPMN as a new practical skill
Business analysts, process analysts, and operations professionals
AI, automation, and digital specialists who need a reliable way to understand how a process works before applying automation or AI
Anyone who needs a shared visual way to explain process flows across business and technical teams
The course is led by an active business process management professional who has taught BPMN 2.0 to thousands of people across multiple industries and worked closely with practitioners operating in large, complex organizations. The teaching approach reflects real delivery expectations: models that are easy to understand, easy to maintain, and fit for purpose.
You’ll reinforce your learning through practical examples, exercises, and multiple-choice questions with model answers. BPMN is tool-agnostic, so you can follow along using any modelling tool you prefer. If you don’t have one, guidance is provided early in the course on how to access a suitable free tool.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to create clear, professional BPMN process flows that support communication, process improvement, automation, and AI-enabled work.
I look forward to seeing you in the course.

Fantastic course overall—clear, engaging, and easy to follow. The concepts are explained in a very accessible way, which makes learning BPMN 2.0 straightforward and enjoyable. One minor suggestion for improvement would be to ensure consistency in diagrams across module transitions, as they occasionally appeared updated without explicit explanation. That aside, this is an excellent course on BPMN 2.0 and highly recommended.

Excellent learning experience with clear und practical content for a beginner like myself. I really liked the Learning by Doing Section and Brian is great and lovely as an instructor. :)

Course was good and precise. Some sections like sub-processes and data can be improved to add more details. Also these sections were missing in assignments as well, good if you can add some of these so it will help to understand the context better.

The instructor makes the training very interesting and relatable. Perhaps moving a bit quick through the steps for introductory work with the bmpn.io tool but I was able to stop and restart w/out any issues so I could 'play' with the functionality more. Intro to the bpmn.io tool is excellent means to get us started on understanding.

Great relevant content and delivery. Enjoying the "straight to the point" and brevity of the clips - respectful of people's time ps just to point out a little omission - no 3 video in the case study/hands-on section

For me, I needed to listen at double speed to feel comfortable, but overall the course is very easy to follow. I genuinely can’t imagine how this topic could be explained more simply. I really appreciate the instructor’s approachable teaching style. My friends and I were able to use the knowledge immediately in practice. BPMN might look complicated at first glance—at least, that’s just my opinion—but this course made it much more understandable and approachable.

Great structured and beneficial course-not too simple, not too difficult. Overall great job! Brian, if you will add into your course Loop Activity, Parallel and Sequential Marker, Default and Conditional Flow, Collection Data Object, it will be TOP course on Udemy. I have taken another course on Udemy and have a comparison.

Very good course packed with knowledge and nice examples. Very well suited for a total beginner to the topic like myself. There are some small technical issues with quiz 2, answers don't show up properly. But that does not decrease the overall value of the training.

Really enjoyed the course. I think its the best process mapping course I've done. The only wee issue was that the bpmn.io does not have the same data object you were using with the black/white arrows (or if so I couldn't work it out). It would be helpful to have that video use the bpmn.io tool rather than signavio. Also, would be useful to hear your thoughts about certification

A very fluent, clear and simple way to explain the lessons. This course is helpful for those who approach for the first time to BPMN and useful for those with basic knowledge to complement what is already known. The instructor is nice, he gently answered all my questions. I suggest to extend the lessons and tutorials for the rest of the events, include the concept of "token", external artifacts, MI markers and most of all, Choreography diagrams. Additionally, it would be great to have an example of a real life BPMN diagram on the downloadable resources to observe the application of all the topics of the course in a process. By the way, it would be very helpful if you included the subtitles to the videos.
