I like that the instructor goes through lots of specifics, but at this point most "new users" would prefer to use python 3.x instead of 2.7. Unfortunately, because the instructor says "use 2.7 instead of 3.x" the course cannot be updated unless it is completely redone. Most of the differences so far are minor, so if you know another language (at least) then using 3.x anyway shouldn't be an issue, but if this is your first course you probably won't want to do that.

I have taken many courses on Udemy, and this course is one of the most indepth courses while not wasting your time. Only halfway through this course, I was able to apply my new knowledge of python. The instructor gives great explanations of the topics.

Already a bit experienced with python 3, the examples were easy to follow with some google searching for python 3 equivalent syntax, helped me round out some missing gaps in my knowledge of python

This course has been a huge help with getting started in Python programming, it has step by step processes that are often overlooked in other courses which really helps when first learning!

I love the introduction to Python the teacher gives here. Especially good is that he comprehensively covers subjects that are hard to read up on by self-study (e.g. namespaces etc.). However, it seems that the pentesting part he promised is a little short compared to the python intro part. All in all its a great course with a great lecturer, though.

The instructor is very knowledgeable and makes his lectures to the point and very precise. I would recommend this course to anyone who has zero to little experience in programming.

Disclaimer: though I'm not a professional programmer, I do have experience writing code. My major issue is that this course was designed with the assumption that everyone is using Windows. For those of us on Linux or Mac OS X, this means that we need more expertise to get past the setup issues and to run the sample code. Fortunately I have that, but not everyone in this course does. As an e-learning designer, I'm aware of the challenges in producing online content without a standardized target setup but using Eclipse as an IDE for python is like using an elephant gun to swat a fly. Some topics got short shrift, particularly with setup instructions. In particular the MySQL module just assumed the student had installed and configured MySQL on their machine. I had MySQL on a virtual machine but the code didn't address how to connect to a remote database via python. At the very least, a link to MySQL setup and configuration instructions would have been nice. Otherwise (since VMs are used later in the course) a quick LAMP VM install would also have worked and the code adjusted to connect remotely. This has the added advantage of being more 'real-life', as you will rarely write code to manage a database on your local machine. I did enjoy the modules on pen-testing and web application code. Overall, it's a mostly solid course, but the technical issues for less-experienced students and the lack of depth for certain topics keeps it from reaching its full potential.

This course is 90% about learning how to work with Python, and then the rest talks about pentesting (with Kali). I felt like the course overall improved my Python knowledge-base. The instructor does a good job of providing solid examples, gives good challenges/assignments, and provides his own professional input as well. If you have programmed with Python before, then this course is more of a refresher than anything else, although it does touch on multithreading and some GUI stuff. If you're brand new to Python then this course is highly recommended. The title is a bit misleading, as, like I said, only about 10% of the course is pentesting related, but I still liked what the instructor went over. It also looks like Igneus plans on updating the course with more pentesting+Python related content, so there could be more to come. Oh and the production quality was great. Thanks Igneus!

A good introduction to Python I finished this course a month ago. I enjoyed this course to learn Python basics. This course is good for beginners. It covers a lot of topics. Each video is easy to understand. I do not say this is perfect and go to many detail of Python language. But, it is great for beginners to start writing Python scripts. After this course, a student must be comfortable to write many basic Python scripts. This course met my expectation.

If you are an absolute beginner in python programming this is the trainning you have to choose. The lections are easy to understand and short structured, In my opinion too short and sometimes not prepared in that style I wished. As an example the trainer creates a new file in every video and starts each! video with the same words. I would have wished that, if not at the beginning at least at the more complex topics he would have made a file already, probably with some code line and explaines that lines more in detail. Also, when things became more interessting, the trainer suggests to read the documentation instead of explainning some more commands in detail. Reading the documentation is not a bad idea anyway but if you already know python a bit you want more than that advise.
