This is not a fortran basics course, but rather a course to brush up the basics for people who have experience using fortran. However, I can’t say I have not learned anything, but as the course progressed there were fewer explanation and more of challenging assignments which made it difficult and also boring to do. It could be improved if the concepts could be explained for a longer duration with more examples and then the challenging assignments would make it interesting.

Instructor Bio
Holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from Old Dominion University. Elected as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2004. Twenty-eight years teaching at the university level including courses in numerical methods, fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Six years as a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department Head at Utah State University. Currently a professor emeritus at Utah State. Areas of research interest include vortex breakdown, aerodynamics of sailboat sails, buoyancy-driven flows, and environmental flows.
