Course Description

In this course you will learn to build your own e-learning platform (like a Udemy or Skillshare clone) while learning 25+ gems and multiple Rails features!
In this course you will:
gain the broad knowledge and skill needed to create basically any web application you can think of.
get acquainted with all the modern technologies needed to find a Ruby on Rails Developer job.
create your own online learning platform that you will be able to monetize as you wish.
get access to the source code of the application that we will be building.
I'm proud to say that this is the most feature-rich Ruby-on-Rails-6 course on the internet.
The course contains 200 lectures and 20 hours of video content.
It is a result of my 5 years of Software Engineering experience and 6 months of course writing.
Through the years of being a software developer I've learnt a lot by trial, error, and research.
You don't have to spend all the time I did.
In this course I've summed up the best practices of using different gems and features.
You will be able to learn it all by practice!
As well we will learn to troubleshoot different issues in development and production.
We are going to build an online learning platform, step-by-step, feature-by-feature!
As a beginner you will learn the whole process of developing an application with multiple features.
As an experienced developer, you will master features that you didn't have a lot of experience with.
As well, you will have access to the source code of the demo application.
This way, you will be able to launch your own e-learning platform at any time!

Yaroslav Shmarov

Hi, I'mYaroslav, a Ruby on Rails Developer and Teacher.
10 years ago I started out by building language school management "software" in MSAccess for family's business. I knew there should be a better way in "the magic world of programming", so Ispent years learning until Ifinally released my first real software product, that the school has been running on since 2015.
Today I develop commercial CRM and SaaS applications with Ruby on Rails. I've also won 7 hackathons building fascinating projects with this technology!
Nowadays, thanks to online courses like this one you don't need years of theory to start creating meaningful software.
I love Ruby on Rails for it's simplicity and speed of development:you have the frontend, backend and server all in one place and you don't have to learn a lot of different technologies to make software that just works.
Ibelieve in learning by practice. Learning by building professional-grade real world applications is fun and much more rewarding, than learning theory. In the end, you get paid not for what you know, but for what you create. I will teach you to create.
For me, building software is like an art and a passion. Like an architect, you design a perfect solution. Like a sculpture, you shape the way the person perceives it.
Being a software engineer can be rewarding, both financially and mentally.

This course has a lot of insightful information. You can tell Mr. Yaroslav put a lot of effort, energy, and time to make this course. For that two thumbs up. Another thing that was very impressive was that he was very quick to reply when ever a question was posted or sent. Another two thumbs up for that. He is constantly updating the course ~ I learned a lot of things through this course. Thank you for all your hard work! Two Thumbs and 5 stars.

So much useful information in one course! Totally recommended!

I'm just starting the course, but I can say that all my expectations are being attended.

Excellent, practical and comprehensive course with quick replies from Yaroslav - latest version of ruby on rails, and no time messing around with set-up on my local machine, and more on learning! Accesible for beginners, but provides experience of building a more 'realistic' commercial app unlike any classes I have seen that build a simple 'clone'!

Great course! I am only 1/3 done but I have already learned so much about developing in Rails.

Really enjoying this course and learning some new things. I'm pretty new to Ruby and Rails and have been able to follow along very well.

By Michael Diemar on 9/22/2020

Only for advanced developers.
The speaker is hard to understand.
The transcription of his speach is not translated/recorded very well.
The transcription is always in front of the commands being typed in - so you can barely see, what's going on.

This is an excellent and complete course. The course covers the current approach to writing applications in Rails 6.0 and many popular gems.
The author did a great job on creating the course, for which I thank him.
I recommend this course for those who already have at least some understanding of Rails, because there are no detailed explanations, only a quick and dry presentation of useful material.
It took me about 70 hours of coding to get to the end.

This is an EXCELLENT COURSE, packed with information. I have taken online programming courses before and this one FAR EXCEEDS any of the others in content. The author is clearly an accomplished programmer in rails and, though I do have a decent amount of experience with rails, I learned how to do things I have never done before. I have one minor criticism. Though the presentation is very complete, it is sometimes hard to follow. Because of this, I would say that this is not really a course for beginners. It helped me a great deal that I was already familiar with the basics of rails programming. That said, the content is SO GOOD that I cannot give this course anything but 5 stars.

Well detailed instructions so far (lesson 2) You should ask this question later in the course
