This is a short introduction to IBM SPSS built around descriptive statistics. It runs about 3.4 hours across 47 lectures. You start with value labels and variables, move on to charts and graphs, then cover central tendency, variability, z-scores and correlation. Two later sections are plain statistics lectures that explain the ideas behind the software. It is written for students and office workers who have never opened SPSS, and it holds a 4.4 rating from 1,476 reviews with roughly 10,000 students.

Reviewers like the teaching most. Quantitative Specialists, the team behind it, gets credit for a calm voice, bite-sized videos and clear examples, and one reviewer singles out Professor Yockey as encouraging. The complaints are consistent too. Several say practice data files are missing or renamed, which makes it hard to follow along. One says the Q&A has gone unanswered for four years. Two others say the order feels off, because the SPSS steps come before the concepts behind them.

The course is so far so good, the lecturer is clear and concise in explaining the basics and how to use the program. However, there are multiple missing data sets (or everything is just renamed and its hard to find the one used in the examples) which make it extremely hard if not impossible to complete some of the exercises alongside.

The recorded instruction is great; it's clear and easy to follow. Unfortunately, some of the data files (required, and originally provided) for the course are missing. Also, no one from Udemy has answered questions in the Q&A for 4 years, so there's no one to address any questions or the missing files. These last factors are frustrating and limit the efficacy of the course.
