Yes. In Africa, we have a strong storytelling culture which I have always enjoyed. But as I've grown older, I've suppressed using it, especially in the workplace because I'm scared people might say, "That's unprofessional!". The lessons reinforced the need to improve on our storytelling skills to be able to convey our message more effectively. The course emphasized the need for several practices, an honest self-review, and true peer critique to improve our storytelling skills. It would be nice to have more tips on the dos and don'ts on delivering the message, developing the flow of the story, effective starting and closing strategies, and finding one's unique style and voice ~ some lessons that may probably be learned in a more advanced course. It was GREAT every single video!! Quite clear and easy to understand although I´m Mexican. And what I like the most is that each point is useful in the practice. The presentation I´m working on is quite important for me because what I want to communicate is about the experience my husband and I had with my little son, the much we had learn out of the situation, and how other parents and teachers can get a valuable lesson from 12 strategies that can be used to understand their kids´ brain´s function and with that reinforce a great relation with their parents and with the rest of the world. I learned a lot of specifics in this course. TJ was amazing with his interaction and communication. He was easy to learn from and his resume over the years is very impressive. Much respect to TJ. I will definitely take more of the courses he offers and I am going to take his advice to practice practice practice!
